Our laws say otherwise.

There is a time and place to protest.

At WORK is NOT one of them.

I suggest YOU do a protest where you work and see what happens to you.

If they want to do it on their "own" time, that is O.K.
So there is a law that says that they cannot take a knee during the national anthem.....?

And regardless of "the law" what you bolded in regards to my words is correct. People in American can, indeed protest in any way that they feel they would like to do so. Nothing/no one stops them from the protest initially. Now, if they do break any laws during their protest, they will face charges and potential jail time for breaking any specific law, but there is no law that says that people cannot protest.

Please, how about being a little more mature?

Of COURSE people can break any law they want to.

You CAN stand up in a crowded movie theater and yell "FIRE!" but, you should be charged with inciting a riot.

As I said, what you do on you OWN time is up to you.

What you do while "on the clock" at work is different.

YOU try it at work and see what happens.

IMO, the team owners are cow towing to these players.

You are free to have whatever opinion you like as I am.

A coward for not agreeing with your anti-obama sentiment?

Eeehhhh.....no.

The suggestion says a lot about you though.

Why are they picking the anthem? From everything I've read, they believe there is institutional racism in the US.

Who is the CEO of the US? Well, that would be Obama.

Logic. It says I'm logical.

I stand by what I said before. Them having a different opinion about things, including about Obama, does not mean they are cowards. They might blame someone, or something else, and according to your own argument you are a coward unless you agree with them.

You telling me to be mature and you are the one yelling with your uppercased words above lol

The team owners have contracts with their players. Evidently the players who are protesting are not breaking their employment contracts otherwise, the team owners would put a stop to it. They also know that a large percentage of their players are black. They cannot have a team without their players.

And I know I'm free to have whatever opinion I would like. I already said that and more on the subject that I am happy to be American and able to speak freely.

I think there is a 'code' which is for government employees.

Every one of those guys kneeling or sitting has millions of dollars given to him for playing a game by sponsors. The sponsors give them this money because the kneelers help them sell more beer and cars. This is the system they are a part of, a richly rewarded part. They profit from it more than anyone. I'd say they're biting the hand that feeds them except it's their own hand.

They would earn respect instead of scorn if they flung the money back in their partners' faces. That would be a protest instead of a photo op.
Actually, these guys are risking their careers (through potential retaliation) and possible sponsor money who might void or cancel their contracts if they don't like what the athlete in question is doing. I think Brandon Marshall lost one for his actions.

And Kap also is donating proceeds from his jersey sales. It's interesting now that he's getting more and more support as time goes on.

Look, the NFL is a money making machine. They'd rather have the players be quiet instead of rocking the boat. But if enough of them speak up, then they don't have much of a choice.

It's like saying they are against the low wages Walmart pays, but instead of pointing to the CEO or management they criticize the Walmart slogan "Save money. Live better."

So, if enough speak up, the NFL will stop playing the anthem and institutional racism goes away?
