She like all CEO's, are working for the stockholders, not the employees. Employee retention and hiring have a big impact on the CEO. Are they having a hard time getting someone to help and work the stores?
I don't know. Neither do you.
The point is that this 25 million dollar number COULD be a market based salary, but it's more likely a figure pulled out of thin air or a rear body orifice.
You are missing the point. The point is that CEO compensation has diddly squat to do with the compensation of other company employees beyond the very top executives.

You sure? You seem to speculate better than I
They have no problem filling the hiring needs here. But they do pay more than minimum wage, by a long shot, or they would not get workers.
And Republicans think CEO's should get a tax break.
well lets look at that shall we? back in the late 90s the state of new york went after the CEOs and their big salaries. they hit them with a big tax increase, and what happened? the CEOs figured out that there was a way for the company to pay them their salary, and avoid the taxes imposed, and the state of new york LOST tax revenue. the state taxed the big bonuses that were paid out, but the ones getting those bonuses decided other avenues of compensation which were not taxed were better.
had new your left well enough alone with their tax rates, they would have actually increased their tax revenues because of increased bonuses in those years.

I don't understand what the big deal is. Very FEW people can do the job that these Fortune 500 CEOs can do. They're in an elite group. That doesn't mean the people in those roles always do a good job, or deserve the job in the first place, but if that's what those positions can command, then that's what the job is worth.
People should look for fairness, which doesn't mean equal. It doesn't mean those making a lot should give up anything just so those making far less get more.
I wish ALL companies limited pay and bonuses for C-levels, just as I wish there was a cap for athletes, but that's not the world we live in.
Then what is the point? You work there?
If not, why is it your business?
Did I say it was?
