US Navy SEALs have been assisting Phillippine Army forces with anti-Islamic radical operations there (including hostage rescue operations). Radical Muslims have been waging an Islamic insurgency there for a long time. Pulling them (and similar US forces) out may have serious consequences for the PI government.
