Also as far as things likely going back down in NYC with the "libs" taking over. De Blasio has been in office for almost 5 years and crime continues to decrease.

One of the biggest issues is cost of living in NYC. The middle class is being pushed out and this results in more homeless people on the streets.

cause before 2016 the economy was in the gutter.

They never want to talk about that.

Never do any of these people start a thread bemoaning the poverty of Mississippi or W. Virginia despite decades of “red” rule.

I live in the Denver metro. Denver has had a Democratic mayor as long as I’ve lived in the area. Colorado had had a Democratic governor during the same period.
Denver is a rousing success however one wants to measure success. So is Boulder, which is considered one of the most liberal cities in the country.
Colorado’s unemployment rate was below 4% long before the rest of the country got there.
Boulder’s fell below 3% this past summer.
It’s very likely that a Boulder resident will be our next governor.
I see no impending “disaster” should that come to pass.

The only disaster likely to befall any city or state will likely be due to policies being enacted at the federal level - those designed to destroy tourism in our national parks, erode the housing market and the like.

What dressing will be served with those apples and oranges?

And NICE job of conveniently ignoring the fact that Japan had YUGE amounts of American $$$ poured into it after the war. Perhaps OUR cities would prosper if we didn't throw away so much $$$ trying to build other countries' cities.

NEW JERSEY!

legacy of democrat control, last on lists of best places and first on lists of worst places.

And now that 18% of voters elected another goldman sachs honcho, up go the taxes, wants to make NJ a sanctuary state , and signed law allowing financial aid to illegal aliens..... not to mention more toothless anti gun laws signed into law.

Just when you thought it could not get worse!!!!! democrats to the rescue, will snatch any glimmer of hope and dash it into the ground while raising taxes and allowing big business edu to continue unscathed in efforts to attack big business.

To me the issue isn't red or blue. It is cost of living/ quality of living.

Some places make it far too expensive to live. High taxes along with an increased cost of living make it a place I would never opt for. NYC for example.
Red places. Been to a few down and out red run cities. Not a lot of difference between the blue and red. I mean other than rhetoric.

So the question begs. Are the blue cities that are doing well, doing well because of democrat and liberal polices or in spite of them?

I lean towards in spite. I feel the same about GOP. I just dont trust big government.

Nope. Ft Lauderdale is considered liberal, and is doing just fine.

Funny you'd bring up Japan as a success story, because their policies are left of the Dems in US
