With the results from 3 major studies now in, there doesn't seem to be much doubt left about this. All non-Africans can trace the vast majority of their ancestry (96% or more) to a single small group of Homo sapiens who left Africa between 50,000 and 80,000 years ago. And members of this group also received a small amount of DNA from Neanderthals and/or Denisovans. Africans are not closely related to the out-of-Africa group and did not receive DNA from the other human groups.
I tend to agree with what the genetic research shows. But I think the divergence was twice as long ago. A divergence or isolated breeding group can create significant differences in a few 1000's years or less. Not that it makes much difference, I still think there is evidence of an Out of Asia possibility. The ancestral "Adam" could've lived first somewhere in Asia, but the evidence presented doesn't seem as strong. There is vast amounts of contradictory evidence.
Oh boy. This will need to be suppressed. This is a really inconvenient hate fact.
Suppressed for what? Inconvenient to whom? Hate fact, how?
I think you're kinda flattering yourself. For one, this isn't the first time many people have heard this before. And two, does this change anything about our lives today?

So there are two groups of humans. Ok. Now what?
Nothing really other than the liberal narrative that race and ethnicity is just "skin color" and the "people of color" vs white clap trap is politico-social construct not supported by scientific scrutiny.
The most recent evidence is much stronger than what came before because new tech has allowed for much more thorough genetic analysis. And there is close agreement among the new studies. This team claims that out-of-Africa could not have occurred more than 75,000 years ago, but that there was an earlier group that left 125,000 years ago which accounts for 2% of Papuan DNA and left no trace in other populations.

Ok...it's not just skin color. You now have your beloved scientific evidence that you're special.
Now what? What're you gonna do with this information?

But race still is a social construct.
The variables within the human species have never been enough to classify humans into sub-species (which is what "race" would be).
We just learned more about the variables and this development does show greater difference between humans but we're still far away from tweaking the work of Linnaeus.

Why couldn't the out-of-Africa group be categorized as a sub-species of Homo-sapiens? It seems to meet most or all of the usual criteria.
Quote:
Members of one subspecies differ morphologically or by different coding sequences of DNA from members of other subspecies of the species. Subspecies are defined in relation to species.
As knowledge of a particular group increases, its categorisation may need to be re-assessed.
