I always say "Merry Christmas". The only thing that bothers me is "X-Mas" but I don't get my panties in a bunch even then.

For that matter I have been wished a "Blessed Solstice" from a Pagan, to which I politely answered "Thanks; you too!" And; I live in Colorado ... home of the "Happy 4/20!"

To which I also answer "Thanks; you too!"

Whats wrong with entertaining somebody elses happiness for a brief second?

When was it ever ****ing gone? We have it rammed down our throats months too soon for the commercialism of it. There are those grotesque inflatable snowmen and Santa Claus things cluttering up scenery right about now. I wonder if the baby Jesus had some of those monstrosities in the manger.

You're right....hyper-commercialism is alive as it's ever been in America. I've been hearing and seeing "Black Friday" ads non-stop for the past couple weeks.

Obama and no one else ever stopped me from saying it...*Merry Christmas!*

Is that a fact?

Maulana Karenga created Kwanzaa in 1966, as the first specifically African-American holiday. Karenga established a community organization called US (meaning "Us black people".)

US engaged in violent competition with the Black Panther Party. This eventually led to a shoot-out at UCLA in 1969 in which two Panthers were killed. Following the UCLA shootout, Panthers and US members carried out a series of retaliatory shootings that resulted in at least two more deaths among the Panthers.

Maybe I should of said Black Power movement...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwanzaa

"Kwanzaa is a celebration that has its roots in the black nationalist movement of the 1960s .... For Karenga, a major figure in the Black Power movement of the 1960s and 1970s..."

There was never a time Americans couldn't say it. Anyone telling you differently was lying, or just feigning victimhood which has become quite trendy.

Personally, I'd prefer not hearing it until we've at least had Thanksgiving.

No doubt they have a history of celebrating "the holidays" together.

I did not know he wrote a book. These are just my own feelings. O'Reilly? Can't stand him or any of those types be they left or right.

As for being upset about Merry Christmas not being a part of holiday displays....I am not sure what to tell you, a private business can do whatever they want. And often times, a business is going to do what makes them the most money.

Being upset about these things makes people who want to cram Jesus down everyone's throat sound more like the true snowflakes.

You are upset about the homogenizing of America? I don't think you are using that sentence correctly, you want the country to be full of different cultures and religions, but at the same time, you want everyone to assimilate or get out? Maybe you should stop and think about what you are actually upset about first before posting about it. Do you want a more homogenized America where everyone is Christian and has the same beliefs as you or do you want a country full of different cultures and beliefs?
This country was supposedly founded with GOD given rights? Correct, it is no longer a Christian nation. It is secular. Maybe that is my problem.

Logical coherence does not seem to be your strong suit.

Those of us who are big fans of thanksgiving are not thrilled about its being reduced to a christmas shopping opportunity.
No, a checker did NOT wish me Merry Christmas. Retaining not your strong suit.

Would you accept Muslim religious displays in the town square during Ramadan?
You bet your bottom dollar I would not! This is America. Assimilate like foreigners used to to build this (what used to be) great country. BS on having Americans be bi-lingual, having signs, packages, everything in multiple languages. Learn ENGLISH, even if it is NOT our "official" language.

Yes, I know about the pagans and the Pope and the first Christians.
