(NBC Exclusive) "U.S. intelligence officials now believe with "a high level of confidence" that Russian President Vladimir Putin became personally involved in the covert Russian campaign to interfere in the U.S. presidential election, senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.
Two senior officials with direct access to the information say new intelligence shows that Putin personally directed how hacked material from Democrats was leaked and otherwise used. The intelligence came from diplomatic sources and spies working for U.S. allies, the officials said.
Putin's objectives were multifaceted, a high-level intelligence source told NBC News. What began as a "vendetta" against Hillary Clinton morphed into an effort to show corruption in American politics and to "split off key American allies by creating the image that [other countries] couldn't depend on the U.S. to be a credible global leader anymore," the official said."
What Election hacks?
Where were they?
When did they occor?
So you admit that all of the information revealed is true?
What about the Romanian Guccifer? Is the intelligence community going to ignore his role in hacking?
How does the Truth ever interfere?
Is that a new Liberal Orwellianism: Truth is Slavery? Maybe it should be Truth is Lies?
I'd suggest "Truth" according to these folks is "what we can get the gullible to believe". And to paraphrase Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Reich Minister of Propaganda, "..if you tell a lie big enough and often enough, people will begin to believe it.

The fact that you and your ilk are perpetrating the lie that every one of the major media sources are lying to the public except for Breitbart, infowars and fux news is the biggest lie of all and you've been telling it for the last 4 years.

Same anonymous officials, same secret reports. The only difference now is that somebody whose identity we still don't know now has "a high level of confidence," and its Rasputin himself who is involved. And somehow NBC news -- known for its high standards of integrity in broadcasting -- is getting intel from the CIA that is supposed to be so secret that it can't be released to the public. They're obviously going to drag this act out at least until the electoral vote.
For a matter that could be so important to national security, this sure has been mishandled. If it turns out that the Russians did hack American institutions, my next questions to the Administration are: (1) why didn't you do something about this months ago when you first found out, and (2) why are you playing games with the public's minds now? This reminds me of when the MSM first said that She was ahead, and later upgraded it to "She's really, really ahead." The same people who bought into that without question are the ones buying into this without question.
Meanwhile in the news: ". . . just over a third of Americans (34 percent) think President-elect Trump will be a good or very good president, and another 23 percent think he will be average. Thirty-six percent think he will be a poor president. But expectations are strongly influenced by partisanship: 60 percent of Democrats expect him to be a poor president, while seven in 10 Republicans think Mr. Trump will be a good or very good president." Do Americans think Donald Trump will be a good president? - CBS News
Reading between the lines, 40% of Democrats don't have any problem with Trump, as well as 70% of Republicans. Does this sound like somebody who's not going to be inaugurated?
You're right, Trump will be sworn and will be President, no doubt whatsoever. So what's that got to do with Putin's involvement in the hacking before and during the election, which virtually everyone in Washington agrees happened (except for Trump himself)?
While I agree that it's important to identify, and correct gaps in our cyber defense posture, there are two other points you seem to be overlooking.
1. The motivations/national origin of the hackers in no way excuses the content of the Podesta emails. There is proof that the DNC manipulated the primary process in favor of Clinton, and proof that they received direct support from the "unbiased" media in form of debate questions, and vetting of articles, including editorial changes from multiple outlets.
2. There is absolutely zero evidence to link of any of the hacking, or parties responsible to Trump.

Nobody is saying that Trump didn't win the election. Why do you people keep parroting this false narrative?

Should be a major concern of every single American. Serious business. National security at stake. Anyone who mocks the seriousness (Rush Limbaugh for example) really is needs to leave their partisanship at the door.
Ignoring the threat is definitely not making America any greater....

What does "two senior officials with direct access to the information" have to do with a credible source?
