Some of us on the other side of the fence might think it's time to ante up, play for table stakes, and fight this one to the finish.

If this can be proven to be an effort to enfranchise illegal aliens, all those involved who can be identified should be prosecuted under the Racketeer-influenced & Criminal Organizations Act (RICO) the aliens should be deported, any organizers who are citizens punished to the maximum extent, and permanently enjoined from voting, if possible.

And as an aside, the Constitution of the United States specifically defines treason as "giving aid and comfort to an enemy in time of war" (Article 3, Section 3), and reserves the power to declare the punishment of treason to the Congress.

In short, specifically intended to prevent mob rule, by the likes of the OP.

But little facts such as that have never impeded the zeal of self-designated "progressives".

Why do you claim your location as Zurich Switzerland and Piedmont California? Just to get a permanent residence "visa" in Switzerland you have to have lived in the country for 10 years. Even if you get a permanent residence "visa" by the length of time you have lived in the country, you can apply for citizenship and that is not a sure thing

Applicants for citizenship in Switzerland must also prove they are assimilated into Swiss society and do not pose a threat to security.

Switzerlands government is dominated by a right wing / Populist/ Nationalist anti immigrant party , the Swiss Peoples Party. Why is it ok for the Swiss, and almost every other nation, to protect its borders and have an identity but America has a "demon elect" for caring about protecting borders and enforcing laws?

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
Actually, that is a PC term also.

The official term is ILLEGAL ALIENS

As to the theme of this thread, I am all for states rights. That said, if CA defies federal law by taking sides with illegal aliens, then all federal funding should be cut off to them until they comply. Rest assured CA will blink before Trump does.

When Trump's people really start getting serious against illegal aliens; how will Calif fight them? MOST Calif police officers WILL "break rank" under Federal pressure and, WILL help arrest Jerry Brown on down.

IF a bunch of la raza and drug cartel types try to riot; that WILL bring in the National Guard. This ain't Mexico: the good guys WILL win this mess.

YAY... so, now obstructionism is a fantastic thing even before the demon is in office!!!!

Holy crap!

My lovely state of California is the very definition of treason!

I'd say the majority, even closet Liberals, are hoping so!

Many of us lived through Moonbeam v1, and could not believe we voted the A$$ in again...TWICE!

Some people are fools... he waited until all the once-fooled died off so a new generation of fools would vote him in again.

Actually all Trump would have to do is on day one say will be enforcing deportation of illegals who have committed crimes in all states but California starting in 28 days. Then after the influx of criminal illegals to California over those 28 days, defund California for not complying with ICE. Checkmate California.

Brilliant!

But, still not the right way to handle this situation.

Defund any state that allows any city to break Federal Law; He only needs to enforce the bolded part. That's it, done, game over!

The minute that the Federal government votes to cut off funding California's highways, they will lose their cookies in California.

Can't wait for that to happen.

If they try that, Trump can work with the other 49 to make their driver licenses invalid anywhere outside of California. Let's see how the citizens of the state enjoy being unable to travel. Because we can't have police unable to look up driving records. That also means they'll need a passport to board a plane or deal with anything else governed by the feds that requires ID a little earlier than the rest of us.

But I don't think it will go that way. Watch for the massive FBI hiring shortly after the inauguration. Sanctuary city and state leadership that play these games will end up in prison where they belong, I hope.

Remember something, libs. Cutesy little lawyer tricks can be played on both sides. I don't think Trump, Jeff Sessions, or the other Trump people to be involved will appreciate the lack of cooperation in enforcing existing federal law. I wonder what they call it when an American elected official gives assistance to people invading our country? Oh right, TREASON. That carries a sentence of 5 to death, so. I hope they think it's worth it.

Good luck with that, California. Whoever authorizes such actions is guilty of violating federal law and the penalty for that is time in prison:

With regard to violations of 8 U.S.C. § 1324(a)(1)(ii)-(iv) and (v)(ii), domestic transportation, harboring, encouraging/inducing, or aiding/abetting, the basic statutory maximum term of imprisonment is 5 years, unless the offense was committed for commercial advantage or private financial gain, in which case the maximum term of imprisonment is 10 years.
