That's OK that they nominate him. I'd lay good money that it would never be awarded.

Don't let the fact that nations don't nominate people for the prize stand in the way of facts, only the Nobel Committee does.

If this happens, the Nobel Committee will have forever destroyed all credibility they've ever had. Suppose he "stabilizes" the Middle East by nuking it?

Obama won the prize for talking about what he was going to do and offering hope to the nation and the world. Whether or not he delivered on that is up for debate.

Trump is taking action and shaking things up which is never popular.
Trump is like the divorced parent of a spoiled child and he is doing things now that are painful and seemingly cruel to that child who has been given everything for the last 8 years but in the end, years from now the child will thank that parent for providing the tough rules, discipline and teaching the hard lessons of life.

If Trump is the parent to an unruly America he needs to take some of those Democrat leaders and give them a spanking.

Perhaps Trump will win the Nobel Prize 8 years from now.

Not at all.
The Nobel committee makes all the decisions as to who all the Nobel prizes are awarded, and the committee has always been secret about its proceedings and the selection process.

Anyone can submit a nomination to the committee by mail; the address of the headquarters is not a secret, but once the letter goes through the mail slot, everything else is never discussed.

While the committee membership is known publicly, it is unknown if they alone make the selections or if the committee has a private sub-group that does the winnowing. The entire process of selection has always been private, and no former committee members have ever said a word about it.

Since the prize and the committee are both private institutions that have no connection to any government or other entity, they aren't required to divulge their selection process, and they never have. The award announcements always have surprises in them as a result.

Many of the most anticipated people in the various award fields have never received a prize, while others who were never expected to be candidates have won them.

Some awards have been presented posthumously, and others have been awarded decades after the initial reasons were completed. Public renown and/or popularity has no influence on the committee, but history apparently does, sometimes.

Don't be so sure. If the award process parallels his election, people would be bribed or threatened and every dirty-trick in the book would be pulled on his competitors.

Obama got one for doing nothing. He followed up by bombing at least 5 different countries.
Remind me again. What did Obama do to deserve his?
Trump shouldn't get one as he has done nothing to earn it.

There was a lot of defense for Obama receiving the Peace Prize by the Democrats and the biggest irony is that the participant can REFUSE the prize... Obama never did...
