He knew at least 17 days that Flynn lied about these Russian phone calls. So why did he wait so long before forcing him to resign? He's very quick to fire people who disagree with him on any other matter

Because that would mean that Trump picked the wrong guy and that would make him look weak which is why he let the man resign instead of firing him. I bet Trump was also hoping this would disappear from everyone's radar.

He also asked his legal counsel to determine if any laws had been broken. Which there were not. I'd want to know what the legal ramifications were, also, so as to not get dragged into something without knowing the full extent of the problem. "Trust" was broken, and now he's gone. End of story as far as I'm concerned. Liberals, on the other hand, are still dejected by Hillary's defeat and thus literally have no power so they'll demagogue this to death.
