""The first thing that dictators do is shut down the free press" "

Talk about dictators, those would be the media owners and their puppet editors. Our press is a gigantic corporate venture, not exactly what I consider a truly free press. We have some independent press, but you have to dig for it. McCain has never gotten over the fact that he didn't get to be president. In a way, he reminds me of Kerry and Gore. Besides, Trump hasn't done anything to shut them down, he just calls them out.

Trump’s war on the media carries chilling echoes of Nixon

Some of the stunning similarities between Richard Nixon and Donald Trump

Some of the stunning similarities between Richard Nixon and Donald Trump

"Historians pointed out similarities between Mr. Trump and Richard M. Nixon, who in 1972 told his national security adviser, Henry A. Kissinger, “The press is the enemy.”

Mr. Bernstein said the president’s language “may be more insidious and dangerous than Richard Nixon’s attacks on the press.”

“But there is a similarity in trying to divide the country, and make the conduct of the press the issue, instead of the conduct of the president,” he said."

The above = great examples of fake news.

"Something might happen."

Maybe wait until it does happen?

That's when it's real news.

There are five W's in journalism. What? Who? Where? When and Why? Anything other than that is opinion. And opinion is all the MSM broadcasts or prints these days. And it's all about the ad dollars, number of views, number of clicks, or number of subscribers. And everyday that a new "blog" or "news source" or station is created the more opinion must be included to fill up the page or time slot. The problem with the media is the glut of media we have these days. Too many to just report the news and get their piece of the pie.

Sure they did. They wanted Trump to run against Hillary thinking it was a sure win for Hillary. It wasn't.. too bad.. now they want control because they thought they had control all those months of what the outcome would be to who won the presidency. MSM thought for sure Hillary was a shoo in against Trump!

For several years now, the majority of news sources in the United States have not been free of bias. They have been entirely pro-Obama, pro-Hillary, and pro-liberal. Enough people finally decided that liberals and the media cried "Wolf!" too many times and stopped believing them. Hillary could have possibly won in 2008 if Obama had not cut in line and taken "her" place. Oh well.

"What difference at this point does it make?"
