No. I do not think so.
That's why I said what I did.
Really? So you arm the police and leave the citizens without a means of self-protection. Criminals gonna love that. You realize that if I am grabbed and raped, the cops are not going to be there at the time of the violation, but I guess the will be well armed to take my statement, if I live to give one.
Agree completely. A Federal Law allowing nationwide conceal carry would go a long way in re-establishing our Constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and BEAR arms!!
So true; carry a firearm is the only right that ends at another states jurisdiction. Your driver's license does not, your right to free speech does not; and your right against illegal search and seizure does not; your right to a speedy and fair trial does not end when your cross in to another state. But your right to carry a firearm does.
If anything is ridiculously lax it is the light sentences given to career criminals.
Firearms violation's are the first thing's that are plea bargained away. In most cases the criminal is already a repeat offender, barred from owning a firearm and yet they still get another gun; commit a crime with it, and get those charges reduced or not even put into what they go back to court over.
Sure, as long as "shall not be infringed" is found in it.
I should not have said "Congress" could pass a law that emulated Switzerland's---that would be incorrect.
I should have said that any state could pass a law that emulated Switzerland's militia law, and the Supreme Court would likely find it Constitutional. In particular, I think that would have flown in the first few years after the Constitution was written, when states still considered themselves to be self-governing and federal officials still believed it.

You should do more thinking!
You didn't read what I said.
Stop pretending you did.

The 10th Amendment, cannot be involved in 2nd Amendment issues.
The amendment dictates it is "the people" Not even Citizen is used here. From the beginning, all immigrants had the right to self defense and to be part of the militia.
Screw that, I love my semi auto 9 mm. As a woman, I had a hell of a time with a revolver. After pulling the trigger about 10-15 times my wrist and finger was in pain.
Why don't you think women have the right to protect themselves?
If operating a Ruger Blackhawk hurts your widdow pinky, you ain't gonna defend yourself anyway. Go back and read where I said you should be able to keep what you have.
