She lies, uses bad evidence, tells half-truths, has used parody websites as if they were real, etc...a lot!

She and her "tax expert" guest last night were either dunces that didn't understand what an effective tax rate is, or they were purposefully manipulating their discussion to slant their discussion against Trump.

Trump has to be thrilled with last night.....what little that was revealed made him look good, he is the victim of a crime (unless he released it himself) and anyone with a thinking brain saw through Maddow's BS bias.

The most ridiculous thing is that Rachel Maddow viewers blast "Faux Noise" (Fox News) without realizing that Maddow is just as bad as anything on Fox News.
In general I completely disagree with you on the overhype, but I have only been following her show for the last year or so. She brings in a lot of evidence but doesn't necessarily draw conclusions. She's had the most consistent and in - depth reporting on all the Russian connections.

Of course I would have liked to have seen more on the returns. Personally I think someone from his camp leaked them because showing that year was the most flattering picture. But it raises even more questions. He went after hillary in the debates for not changing the tax code. Now he has a chance to help set an agenda (yes I know he doesn't wrote the laws) and if he goes after the AMT everyone will be talking about how much he stands to gain. There are also demonstrations planned in several cities for tax day- I think they'll get even more attention now.

Just proved to me that Mr. Trump is the sleazebag that I thought he was. One item that caught my attention was the A.M.T. , that he is proposing to get rid of. 2005, he would have only had to pay 5 million in taxes, instead of 38 million.

Of course, Mr. Trump slams the messenger, always does, always will. I think he has made a pact with the devil. Nixon claimed, "I am not a crook!!" just before he had to resign. When will Mr. Trump resign and "Make America great again?"

Everything seems to roll off of Mr. Trump like the greased pig that he is. IMO

What amazes me throughout this thread Trump supporters keep saying 'he paid! He paid a lot of money!'

That is not the main point of wanting to see how tax returns. We need to see if he has conflicts of interest. Where is his money coming from and where is it going?

The AMT is criminal. People should not have to pay more taxes just because the government wants more eventhough they are not obligated based on their legal income and expenses.

In another thread McConnell is pimping for raising the debt ceiling without any calls for any way to deal with the $20 trillion we are already in debt. How is that not criminal?

There is something else? She isn't bright enough to understand this was a positive for Trump?

These returns are old news which makes me consider the things above as they make no sense.
I wonder if she didn't look at them before going on the air or didn't understand what the AMT is. Either way, she made a fool of herself tonight, and a lot of her fans are disappointed.

Maybe she believed her own hype that any tax returns released would be bad for Trump, so she decided to reveal them blindly on the air.

I saw tons of comparisons to Geraldo and Al Capone's vault last night. This was a really bad decision by her.

The devil is in the details- any tax attorney can show you that- and more laws being introduced to circumvent having to pay taxes-- or basically MORE loopholes. and many think this was sent via Mr T - not the first time he sends something out to the public, to cloudy the waters, so the entire picture is not exposed...- he likes to play that game a lot....

Arrest her and put her in jail if she does. This is not a person revealing content of public nature, or of public corruption, etc... this is a person willingly releasing PRIVATE information that none of us have a right to see. She releases it, throw the book at her and let that idiot rot in jail.

More important than what was in those returns was what was NOT in them. There were only the two cover pages, not the many accompanying sheets that would show where that money came from, etc.

I think it was leaked by someone close to Trump to put him in a good light. They probably picked 2005 because it was the one year where he actually paid some money. A return from 12 years ago does not tell us much at all about his current web of finances.
