I don't get you liberals at all, you whine day and night about "living wages" or "wealth inequality" But you then do everything you can to elect politicians that want to flood the country with cheap foreign labor, thus dragging down wages.

What has what I said got to do with being liberal or conservative except for an excuse for you to lash out because someone doesn't agree with you?

You think Canadians will come and work in the USA for less money than what an American would take. You seriously don't have a clue do you?

google nurse shortages.....

There's also a teacher shortage in South Carolina. So are we better not to hire anybody than hire someone that may be qualified but coming from another country?

Nurse shortage is a myth. Ask any nurse and they will tell you.

But YOU don't know if those nurses looking for jobs are in those towns where the Canadian nurses were hired initially and then prevented from working....

Trump has H2b workers at MarALago--
As long as Trump has ANY visa workers at any of his properties or other interests I don't think he should be allowed to change any immigration policy--period...

There was a nurse shortage--salaries went up--people went to nursing school...
Not really shortages any more
Same with physical therapists--
At one time there were shortages but like anything else--
There was a surge of people going to school to fill those openings...
And it is more and more difficult--now people in PT are staying for their MS vs the first level degree to help facilitate hiring...

Plus, immigrants, legal or illegal, are a method to keep wages unnaturally deflated. The issue isn't that Americans don't want to do the jobs, it's that they don't want to do it at the pay they are being offered. Pay enough and people will do whatever job you have, crappy or not.

They largely buy their gas, groceries, and clothing while in Michigan. Cheaper and better selection.

Smh.
I guarentee that your tune would change if you were an out of work or poorly paid nurse in Detroit...

Why? If we paid for nurses and doctors to get their degrees then maybe I could understand. And our country should pay for them. But no one wants to become a doctor or nurse anymore. Their student loans are outrageous. So why not have experts from other countries who could help us.
