Agreed.
I live in a somewhat rural area. Its ~100-150 miles to the nearest airport depending on which airport. If air service is of high importance to me then I would move closer to the airport. I also have to drive 30 miles one way to work, there is little in the way of public transportation, no garbage pick-up, no cable, no pizza delivery. As it were, rural, quiet, unrestricted is more important to me, so I stay put. Its my choice. If I need a flight I will drive or take a shuttle service or make arrangements. If I dont like where I live, I'll move.

That's how I feel.

Somehow it seems fitting that those who stood around in their red caps, doing their witless call and response with "Lock her up," and "Mexico," are now the ones losing their health insurance, their air service, ...

It would be funny if I didn't know that a lot of folks are going to have a rough time of it.

But they'll survive. They're resilient. They've got their bug out bags for when the SHTF.

He never mentioned that he was going to stuff his cabinet with Goldman Sachs guys and other billionaires, while cutting job training programs in Appalachia, rural subsidies, public schools, meals on wheels, etc.

And just where are all these promised jobs?
Yes help us to help ourselves. Bring back job and raise the standard of living not perpetuate federal handouts and out of control spending.
If Trump supporters wanted to be dependents and suck the federal teat they would have voted for Hillary.

Are you saying that rural America can't survive without socialist tax dollars programs?

Yep that's exactly what it is. Imagine if there was no postal service, you'd be SOL

Doesn't Exxon or the gas industry get a massive subsidy?

Step 1. Get rid of well paying airport jobs

Huh.

Not sure of my opinion of it all to be honest. I'd need a LOT more actual infor.ation. But this is not the sort of thing that's going to help create jobs in the middle of nowhere. Quite the opposite.

Perhaps the Dept. of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service (the folks that used to make up the Rural Electrification Administration) should be abolished as well. Does this city boy no good, quit wasting my money. (FY 2014 Budget - $4.5B)

I guess those rehab centers badly needed in W.Va and other areas to get all those opioid addicts functioning again are a no-go. You know, those addicts in areas where the pharmaceutical companies are dumping huge quantities of addictive drugs?

Those people will all be told you get no assistance whatsoever, and in the famous words of Nancy Reagan - "Just say no!"
