It's a nothing burger but right wing is desperate, grasping at straws, and are clinging to and distorting it.

Of course it's the top story. Of course they're continuing their brainwashing of the conservative newswatchers. And likewise, MSNBC is still brainwashing it's viewers about Russia at this moment. These media are as partisan as the rest of America and no longer even try to hide it. As the new book "Ungovernable" by James Bixby demonstrates, 50% of America resents being governed from Washington at any given time. The MSM knows this, feeds the people of whatever "side" they're catering to, all to boost their ratings. They don't care about good journalism or reporting facts.

The surveillance of a presidential and opposition candidate and leaks doesn't bother you?

How is that brainwashing, the surveillance of a opposition candidate "incidental surveillance or not" did or did not happen, the felonious acts of unmasking those names and leaking them to the press either happened or it did not happen

If it is a nothing burger then why did Rice lie the first time it was brought up and why is she refusing to comment now and won't even deny it?

Is Rice just fundamentally that dishonest and confused?

I would expect their to be investigations and charges and prison time like during watergate if this were something like the bush administration spying and trying to destroy the candidate obama and the incoming obama administration, the difference between Obamagate and Watergate is the media was against Nixon and they love Obama.

I dont know why Democrats dont think the tools of the surveillance state, spying, leaks and dirty tricks cant be used against them in the future? We could be heading down a terrible road if these charges are true

Oh, it bothers me for sure, 100%. I was simply replying to the original post, that it is the top story on "right wing" news. My point is, the conservative news is going to "talk their book" and the liberal news is going to talk theirs.

Just because I hate the endless talking to fire people up, and lack of real investigative journalism, doesn't mean I don't want a full investigation.

From a report yesterday (Bloomberg):

Rice's requests to unmask the names of Trump transition officials do not vindicate Trump's own tweets from March 4 in which he accused Obama of illegally tapping Trump Tower. There remains no evidence to support that claim.

But Rice's multiple requests to learn the identities of Trump officials discussed in intelligence reports during the transition period does highlight a longstanding concern for civil liberties advocates about U.S. surveillance programs. The standard for senior officials to learn the names of U.S. persons incidentally collected is that it must have some foreign intelligence value, a standard that can apply to almost anything. This suggests Rice's unmasking requests were likely within the law.

She did nothing wrong. She apparently saw a lot of surveillence on Russia that included U.S. citizens communicating with them. She asked to see who they were.

Those "citizens" just happened to be on trumps team, an opposition candidate that was hated by the establishment in both parties.

If they are saying what she did is accurate its incredibly evil, to use the surveillance state to basically spy on a political opponent under the guise of tracking russians, unmasking the names and allowing this stuff to be leaked to the press ( while covering her tracks) is criminal behavior and just vile
