I think you are dishonest. You are the product of your experience and if you as a child had to experience excruciating chronic pain because of lack of health care that other countries provide to all their citizens, you would have a different mentality. Its just common sense.
So you're saying that if I had a bad experience as a child, it would make me more irrational and unable to separate my personal feelings from the issue...and that's supposed to be an argument for UHC?
I think you need to reread your post because I can't believe that people never earn "anything"they have.
To just give one example, I would love for you to tell that to a boy who spent all summer mowing lawns to get a new video system he wanted. I think his reaction would be something to behold!
(I would, however, like for you to explain exactly what you did mean, though.)
Oh, the entitlement of this bunch
Im sure you think everything you have is something you earn for being so hard working, right?
Well, the opportunity to work and be a productive member of society is not equal for everyone.
Go tell that to the son of two poor crack addicts who live in a trailer park with 9 kids that have nothing to eat and where the dad ends up killing the mom by beating her up and the kids have seen nothing but filth, violence and misery. Go tell them they deserve what they were born into and you deserve yours!
The only ones using the word "free" are the ones against it.
It is NOT steal if i WANT to give that money
And again, if you believe paying taxes is being robbed, what the hell are you doing living in society?
Go live in the woods, make your house out of trees and plant your own food!
Or stop making that ridiculous argument!
Its only when a government taxes you (robs you) that it's called socialism. When a corporation robs you, well that's ok, it's just business. Funny, our government represents the people, or it supposed to. Corporations represent their shareholders, their bottom line above anything else at any cost, but that's ok. Ok for me, if its my cable bill, but not life, health of my family and friends! I want support by an entity that looks after me, not a for-profit racket. For-profit health insurance has been a failure in delivering health care to Americans citizens for a 100 years at so many levels.
So you are for an extremely archaic form of government that not only refuses to recognize the sweeping economic changes we've seen over 200 years but has been proven to not work? Other countries who are more progressive, and may I say maybe more forward looking, and have recognized these changes are doing better than we are.
What say you?
Are you happy with consistently lower achievement and quality of life in this country?
How much of your own money should you be "allowed" to keep....off limits for "the public good"?
80%?
50%?
25%?
And we don't have a low quality of life here....far from it.
So you're saying that if I had a bad experience as a child, it would make me more irrational and unable to separate my personal feelings from the issue...and that's supposed to be an argument for UHC?
It would mean you would experience first hand what living in a third world hellhole that you advocate would be like. And you wouldnt like it. This isnt surprising. Working class folks in the rest of the developed world are just like working class folks in America. Once they see the advantages of it, they fight to keep it.
I'll say this...if I could afford to move to another country like Finland or Australia I would. Not so much for me but for my children and future grandchildren. The way the tide is turning in this country makes me sick. Don't worry Rugged Individualists, you'll take your freedom to the grave I'm sure.
Why do you think these countries can afford to do this?
Because of the aid they receive from us in various forms, not the least of which is providing for their national defence.
