I've heard this playbook since the Reagan years.
Hey, just so you know, I sat on a board at a managed care company ( for profit ) and we were dealing with the problem of granny dumping. That's when a family, for whatever reason, will no longer care for a senile older relative, who has no acute medical problems other than dementia, dumps granny at the ER and leaves.

In the past, the doctor in the ER would admit the patient until placement could be found. But that was costing us ( the insurance company ) $6000 per admission, so it had to stop. We told the doctors that if they admitted a patient whose only diagnosis was dementia, they would be fired.

So grandmothers with dementia, were in fact released to the streets when their families dumped them at the ER. Even when they had insurance.

You seemingly aren't comprehending the difference between an effective tax rate and a marginal tax rate.

Romney's effective tax rate is higher than the vast majority of people making $50,000...however, his effective rate is below their top marginal rate.

For example, my household's top marginal rate is 25%, but our effective rate is often around 9 to 11%.

The DNC did a wonderful job of deceiving people who don't understand tax terms. As CNN had even pointed out, they estimated on multiple occasions that Romney's effective tax rate was still higher than 80% to 90% of Americans. Perhaps, too low, but much higher than the average person listening to the DNC would believe.

Romney paid 14% effective tax rate in 2011 - Sep. 21, 2012

The GOP that's how they roll. Saw it getting bad starting under Reagan. Whatever they say at election time is a lie and then they follow the only help the 1%.

Next time check out the names they give their bills. The title is the opposite of what the bill accomplishes. Seen it way to often in the last 40 years. Yet people still vote for them.

And they quote the Bible out of context in the most self serving way.

When we keep rewarding extremely poor, uneducated, unskilled and unfit parents to keep having multiple children with
multiple fathers -- then yeah our homelessness and poverty will keep increasing.

When we keep welcoming and rewarding with welfare $$$ millions of uneducated, unskilled illegal immigrants and "refugees" who don't even speak English and have multiple babies they can't afford -- then yeah, our homelessness and poverty will keep rising.

When we don't offer decent paying jobs, and instead of affordable and practical vocational skills colleges to train for those jobs, we only offer elitist unaffordable liberal arts colleges -- then yeah, our poverty will keep rising.

So the answer is get rid of planned parenting. Allowing business owners to hire those who wish to hide. Cut education budgets to the point that choices need to be made.

All of this takes money, money which the Right wants to go to the Military (bloated) and a border wall.

So it was the insurance companies dumping them in the streets. The same insurance companies still running things.

We sure wasted trillions on the military the last eight years also. Hillary pushed for a war with Russia. What do you suppose that would cost?

Pretty much. They oppose programs that assist the poor, but they also oppose increasing the minimum wage and/or enforcing a living wage. So how exactly are poor people supposed to support themselves? Very few of us are born with a silver spoon in our mouths. And "going to college" isn't an answer either, since Trump is also cutting student loan benefits. But hey, as long as we're going to war, it's all good, right? I hope his supporters remember this when reelection time rolls around. If he's still in office, they should think long and hard about voting for him again, seeing how he won't hesitate to stab his supporters in the back with measures like these .
