These Conservatives who start these nonsense threads absolutely have no sense of history, Most of their ancestors came to this country because they were dirt poor, many as indentured servants, because the wealthy in their home countries kept them down. In order to avoid this country becoming another England or other Europeans country with an entrenched aristocracy we passed progressive taxation and the estate tax.
How many jobs were created by poor people? Hundreds of thousands because it is the descendants of these poor immigrants that created the industries that made this country prosperous.
Now, their all too ignorant descendants, want to make a permanent aristocracy. Unless you are in that upper 1%, given where the future is headed, you condemn your children to the same fate as your ancestors. Where will they go?
Democrats and the left wing are so against wealthy people who create and created jobs as it is well proven!
How many jobs are created by poor people?
Other then government jobs to get ooor people wellfare and section 8 benefits.
Over 40 years of low-wage toil, I have funded my employer's retirement and my landlord's retirement. How many jobs did that enable? Section 8 funds the lifestyles of how many slumlords? Food stamps enable how many jobs?
Yes, it is an odd position for the OP to take. Many of the 'wealthy' that currently employ thousands of people were 'poor' when they first started out.
Some of said individuals:
Howard Schultz of Starbucks.
Shahid Khan, a poor immigrant from Pakistan, whom now owns the NFL team in Jacksonville.
Do Won Chang, an immigrant from Korea in 1981, now the owner of 480 stores selling clothing.
George Soros was very poor in his youth.
Indeed, the guy that works on my lawn tractor was out of a job with nothing to do. However, he knew how to fix small engines, and opened his own shop in my little east Texas town. He now has two shops, employing three people. He is not rich by any means, but he is a good representation of probably millions.
Let's give an example that airs on the frickin' TV ... Shark Tank. The majority are start up businesses that 'poor' people created (people without independent wealth), sometimes they've already enjoyed a level of success and have a few employees. They come looking for an investor to help them launch/grow their business. If you watch some of the followups, these entrepreneurs, some are able to grow their businesses exponentially and now employee several dozens of employees. This is the American opportunity. These people do more than create their own success. They improve the lives of the people in and around their community.
The Koch Bros and Waltons create poverty. Their mega-stores/factories employ people at base wages, minimum hours to avoid benefits and then they let the government take on the burden of subsidizing them with food stamps and medical benefits. But that isn't even enough for them now. They want that money back in more tax breaks !

You are all missing the point.
Capitalism works fine as long as the people who earn the money get to keep the money.
This is not the case in the United States today.
The mooch class along with the aggrieved classes have joined forces with the donor class to elect Democrats who buy the votes of the mooch and pander for the votes of the aggrieved classes so that the donor class can effectively buy elections with working American's tax dollars.
Free trade with third-world nations and effectively open borders helps keep wages down and employers in a position to keep a greater percentage of what workers produce.
Reagan raised interest rates relative to inflation so that working Americans would be able to keep more of what they earned.
Raising the Fed funds rate, relative to inflation, created an increased demand for dollars.
This increased the value of the dollar and, consequently, the buying power of working Americans.
We purchased more with what we earned and the economy exploded with workers receiving a large percentage of the gains.
The ****-poor economic numbers we see today are a direct result of worker productivity being directed to non-earners, i.e., tax collectors (mooches) and investors (donors).
Sanders (not a fan) went against the donor class and was kicked to the curb.
Trump also went against the donor class, but with more working Americans backing him, he was able to overcome the corporate ***** wing of the Republican Party and defeat the mooch-donor alliance.

Yes, I was just going to go there. Also, we have what is called, "The Poverty Industry" which I try to remind people of when they ask about ending poverty, too many wealthy would suffer, so it would never happen: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_industry
I am not a Democrat, but was and this thread makes me remember why I was not a Republican.
Poor people not only worked to make our nation prosperous, they drive a segment of the demand. They are still buying groceries, cars, etc.
Conservatives are trying to make the case that poor people don't deserve medical care because they are moochers. What a vile endeavor to be part of.
Leaving team members behind is despicable in combat and disgusting in peace.
If I recall correctly, most that get food stamps recipients have jobs that don't pay enough to allow them to buy groceries. Of course, the employers paying them these wages count on the taxpayers to supply them with food and often housing so that they can reap maximum profits. Then the argument is, they should get an education, but someone has to do these jobs and the business owners don't want to pay them more and say that will drive up the prices, the lower prices being paid by all of those being critical of the very people that make those lower prices they pay at the retail store, the restaurant, the child care center, etc. possible.
If "ignorance is bliss", this thread is the "icing on the cake"!
