I just don't get why anyone would oppose any measures being taken to keep our country safe (even though this ruling was modified by the Courts). Coming from the 9/11 area and experiencing first hand the tragic loss of community members, first responds and friends, I cannot understand why people would not want the safety of this country to be a top priority. This has nothing to do with anti-immigration or anti-Muslim. We are all descendants of immigrants; it is about the safety of our country. We need to take a step back to make sure rigid vetting is in place. Does this guarantee a 9/11 or SanBernadino will not happen again? Unfortunately, not.......but it is something to show we have respect for the safety of our country. People get insulted and critical when they hear President Trump say, America comes first. Why? Is that such a terrible thing?

Why would any sane people allow those, who just because we don't let them come to our country, would seek and commit terrorism, to come?

It is about votes. Basically, leftists believe those refugees would mostly vote for Democrats. It's a big deal because now Trump is cutting down their votes.

Everyone, but especially those that voted for him. Carrier jobs lost, healthcare about to be destroyed, looks like we might be going to war soon. Democracy is barely holding together.

How does the travel ban affect health care?

Why would democracy is barely holding together?

I'll give you the carrier job lose.

Here is my favorite part of Trump's edict regarding the definition of close family.

Notice how the definition of "close family" mirrors Trump's family, so that it would include all of the children by different wives, half-siblings, step-children and their spouses, but one's own grandparents, aunts or uncles aren't included?

I think this odd definition of close family will definitely be brought into question. As usual Trump policy is totally self-centered.

"...According to a diplomatic cable obtained by The New York Times, “close family” is “defined as a parent (including parent-in-law), spouse, child, adult son or daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sibling, whether whole or half. This includes step relationships.”

But it went on to state that “close family” does not include “grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, fiancés and any other ‘extended’ family members.”

I'm not talking about people coming into the country. He's radicalizing those already here. How about we address how to stop religious radicalization in this country, before worrying about refugees who have never committed a terrorist act here?

He said he's going to draft a plan.
And he still hasn't. Too busy violating the Constitution by fundraising for 2020 and playing golf.

He promised a muslim ban, so you'll have to keep waiting for that promise to be fulfilled.

Because Trump and Congress are violating the Constitution, destroying our institutions, and derelict in their duty of providing Checks and Balances to protect from corruption and abuse of power. We're bordering on a dictatorship right now, because Trump has nearly absolute power. Nobody is willing to provide a check on his abuse of the executive powers.
