So what is stopping you from moving to one of those more "civilized" places?
America is one of those places, and got even more civilized with the passage of Obamacare. It corrected one of our great failings as a society of allowing insurance companies, with a focus solely on profit, to exclude huge swathes of our society from any reasonable health care.
If the Republican party succeeds in repealing and replacing, okay. They are the legitimately elected government. You would think it would be easy with majorities in Congress and the Presidency. But that doesn't mean I have to support them in the effort to kill the general idea of health coverage, I think they honestly misunderstand the human impact on their constituents, and I'm pleased with their failure to make any real progress so far.
What are low-income Republican voters who support repeal really asking for? Leopards to eat their face:

And I don't mean by some vague indirect way like "I'll be paying through higher medical costs". I want to know how many of those uninsured that your are going to add to your insurance plan and pay the bill for every month.
You guys keep trashing republicans because they "don't care about the poor". So since you guys support funding the poor, I want to know how many people you are going to support out of pocket.
I'm looking for either a number of people (0, 1, 2, etc.), or a dollar amount.

If everyone doesn't pay into the healthcare system, everyone loses. What the republicans are trying to do is just pass their agenda they campaigned on. They are behind closed doors with no input from the medical and insurance fields and the actual people their bill would hurt. Our government knows nothing about the medical field so why in the world would we trust them with our lives. On the other hand, why don't the american people get the same insurance our congress gets. Wouldn't that be the easier thing.
