Out with the old, in with the new.
That is the republican way. The republican tent is very small. It demands adherence to a very narrow ideological purity and total political allegiance.

The Democratic tent on the other hand is a big tent, accepting a wider pool of individuals and career placement doesn't depend on ideological purity but job competence. That's why you found so many republicans involved with the day to day running of various government agencies under Obama.

Put simply, Democrats hire based on competence. Republicans hire based on narrow ideological purity.

Shaub left because there was 'nothing more he could accomplish' with Trump. It's another one of those can't win jobs.

If they do their job, Trump will fire them. Scary that the most unethical and corrupt person to ever be in the WH has no watchdog. Sounds like we're becoming Russia.

Lol. I guess he could always give Secretary of Everything--Jared another job. Very ethical.

For those that are concerned that Mr. Schuab had been nominated by Mr. Obama and so he must have been utterly partisan, note that on January 1, 2013, the Senate (Republican controlled) confirmed him by a simple voice vote (usually done when it is going to be unanimous).

Hence, an Obama appointee, but Republican confirmed.

In the minds of most New Jerseyans, making Christie head of Ethics would be like making Hitler the director of B'nai B'rith! Besides, he put Jared Kushner's father in jail, so there's no love lost between the two of them. At least, New Jersey would get rid of Fudgy the Whale a bit sooner -so there's that aspect which would please them! Governor Crispie Creme needs a fork ...or several hundred forks, stuck in him! He's done!!!!

Trump was likely not letting him do his job and it probably made him ill to see all the unethical things the Trump Administration was doing.

It appears that the Director of the Office of Government Ethics has had enough of dealing with the Trump Administration, and is leaving as of July 19th, taking a job with the Campaign Legal Center, a non-profit, non-partisan entity devoted to tougher campaign finance laws.

Mr. Trump may now, with the advise and consent of the Senate, select his own fox to watch the henhouse.

I will toss out one name: Governor Chris Christie.

Hey ~ he'd be perfect for this administration! Between Bridgegate and Beachgate - I cannot think of a more deserving blob.

Or perhaps Reince Priebus. He's not doing anything. Unless they took him out back and locked him in the gardener's shed. Nobody's heard from Trump's Chief of Staff in over 6 weeks.
Ole Reince has been mighty quiet, hasn't he?

Shaub is a straight shooter. His office was getting thousands of emails, texts, and tweets about all the violations of this administration. It had nothing to do with party. This has not happened with any past president.

W ' s and Obama's ethics lawyers have teamed up to fight the ethical nightmare this administration has created. Country over party.

Trump would sell this country down the river to put a few extra bucks in his pocket. Disgusting how many are blindingly accepting it.
