Videos suggest Russian government may be arming Taliban - CNN.com

"The Taliban have received improved weaponry in Afghanistan that appears to have been supplied by the Russian government, according to exclusive videos obtained by CNN, adding weight to accusations by Afghan and American officials that Moscow is arming their one-time foe in the war-torn country."

Yes, it is unconfirmed. For now!

Yes, it is CNN. But, if you need to shout "fake news", then obviously this is something that doesn't sit well, eh?

Still want to "relieve" Russia of sanctions, Trump supporters?

In all of the photos all I saw were beyond worn Soviet arms...
The SVD barrels blueing/parkerized finish wore to a metallic sheen.
The AKs are wicked old older than me I can tell you that.

They are definitely not new and improved. I haven't seen one weapon in that video that is a new Russian firearm.

I'm a gun geek. Not one of those arms are of current production.

Oh, you only have half the story.
See, we're selling arms to Russia so they can sell them to the Taliban.
It's all part of the Russia, Russia, Russia matrix we've got going.

We're also deploying troops to protect the CIA's poppy fields in Afghanistan.
Gotta guard the big dollar crop. Nyet?

Next on deck, is selling the Ruskies the top-secret formula for Coca Cola. (It's part of the poppy strategy, see?)
Then Colonel Sanders will become their b*tch and learn the Mother Tongue.

Good times, all around!

So, IF it turns out to be true, it appears that Trump supporters may have a new view of cozying up to Putin! And Trump's praise for the man!

We will come back to this , after the Trump WH confirms it! It does seem obvious that trump supporters would not like this if it were true.

Just because Russia is providing "improved" weaponry that is "new" to the Taliban, doesn't make it Russia's "latest" weaponry. Plausible deniability!

Also, interesting that the Taliban weapons appear stripped of identification as much as possible. We shall see!

I'm not cuddling up to Putin...
The arms came from Iran.

If improved means a worn out hunk of crap sheet metal receiver 1970s era rifle... CNN and your definition of "improved" is low.

In case you forgot the Russians left alot of arms in the middle east. And quite a few countries copied them... even the Chinese ripped off kalashnikovs and SKS...

Those arms are ancient. Until they look like what I posted... CNN got it wrong...

Per the story
"These weapons were given to the fighters of Mullah Haibatullah by the Russians via Iran,"

When did Russia last sell to Iran? 4 hours ago? 4 days ago? 4 weeks? 4 months? 4 years? 3/4 decades?

Facts are facts. Soviet bloc weapons can be had from the middle east to Africa. Even in China via Norinco.

CNN got you hook line and sinker with sensationalism...
Nothing. I say again. Nothing in their pictures show anything remotely improved

Edit to add: I'll bet none of those SVD/PSL scopes hold a zero. Probably shoot groups the size of a school bus between junk scopes and shot out barrels.

We will get back to it. This report is still preliminary, but Afghani and US officials have been saying it for a while.

As I already said, "improved" weapons to the Taliban, doesn't not mean "newest" or "latest", so all the gun porn in the world is irrelevant.

Your absolute "belief" that you are "in the know", is not justified by anything you have posted. it is just one more opinion (with illustrations).

Not sure why anyone would give the Russians the benefit of a doubt, when they recently threatened to shoot our planes out of the sky in Syria.

Or why it is so hard to believe.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.70e3b5a9c080

'The general in charge of U.S. forces in Afghanistan appeared to confirm Monday that Russia is sending weapons to the Taliban, an intervention that will probably further complicate the 15-year-old war here and the Kremlin’s relations with the United States. When asked by reporters, Gen. John Nicholson did not dispute claims that the Taliban is receiving weapons and other supplies from the Russians.

“We continue to get reports of this assistance,” Nicholson said, speaking to reporters alongside Defense Secretary Jim Mattis'

Define improved then. Because I don't see anything but worn out junk...

It shouldn't come as a surprise that ermergersh you guyz dares Russian guns in Afghanistan...

They're more than likely crap the Iranians couldn't sell to Libya or another warring nation.

Russian weapons have been in the middle east for a very long time. Going by your sources evidence. Far from improved buddy. You fell hook line and sinker for sensationalism...

But do go on, give me the definition of improved... I'm all ears...
