it is for baseball games and NASCAR races, and I've seen it on Monday Night Football for years.

And around here in Baltimore, we yell out "O's" when they get to the "Oh, say, can you see" part. A bit disrespectful maybe, but the anthem was written here... lol

If they want to protest police brutality, it would be best to protest that instead of symbols of the nation as a whole.
Few are still protesting police brutality, most players yesterday were protesting Trump.

Perhaps you spend too much time looking at the people pointing, instead of looking at what they are pointing at.

Ah, see.

And then some say they are protesting police brutality and now some are protesting Trump.

This is a very vague and not very well-organized protest...whatever it may be for.

Clearly they are getting a lot of attention since every PC cop in the nation are screaming off the top of their lungs.

Considering the context of when that statement was made, it's very clear he is talking about treatment of black people by police. You're welcome to disagree with his statement, think there is no "there" there, or think it is a bad way to go about it - but it's very obvious what he is talking about.

Got to love all the posts about there is a time and place to protest ...

Good grief. Our country started with a protest.

Remember Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty?

Dressed up as Mohawks, they dumped tea in the Boston harbor sparking a wave of resistance throughout the colonies.

Maybe if football players dressed up as Mohawks more tea party types would get on board. Who knows?

He made it to post-game highlights, but I don't remember a single game last season which televised the anthem. The broadcast begins at 1PM at kick-off, which is after the anthem. Yesterday was different since they anticipated something to happen after Trumps speech in Friday. They were correct.
