How silly this thread is. There have been and always will be groups wanting to secede. There's nothing new here. I think it's hilarious that many left leaning people never said a peep when CA talks about leaving and actually started a petition to do so, but all the outrage when a few losers in the South want to do the same. Typical hypocrites. Yes, you are!
Great post, this is just silly talk by a disenchanted fringe.

What more do people want? I don't think black people would take well to being enslaved again. Their deporting all the hispanics they use as field labor.
Spoiled!
Even assuming no change in the standing of Blacks in the South, they want the following
*Have a firm adherence to the conventional and traditional way of doing things (not even in the Southern sense, but in the sense of castigating weirdness, oddity, eccentricity, difference, etc.)
*Where traditional gender ideas reign supreme (where men are "manly" and women are "feminine", and the kids are rigorously raised to become such people as adults, and even teenagers)
*Where "common sense" according to the conservative upper middle class to upper working class "ordinary average folks" is constitutionally enshrined, or at least extremely difficult to overturn.
*Overall, they want their land to be dominated by a Leave it to Beaver / Father Knows Best / Happy Days way of life that was a fantasy even in the 1950s; or if you prefer something post - 60s, The Brady Bunch or Full House or a Disney movie within the past 40 years.
*In some areas, have the strong fundamentalist or evangelical churches be the guardians of traditional morals - namely by becoming a de facto fourth branch of government. If the churches and their devout followers don't like it (especially when it comes to alcohol, drugs, sex regarding both genders mind you) then it doesn't become law.
*Where everybody is "patriotic" - and I mean that in a fervent flag-waving "team membership" kind of way, resembling TV advertisements with an all-American theme.
*as the Hank Williams, Jr. song "If the South Would Have Won" line goes "all our criminals would be hanging from a tree, instead of writing books and appearing on TV".
If they get all that, then these secessionists might be satisfied.
So much stereotyping here. Granted, there are racist jerks everywhere, including the south, but that description does not fit the typical southerner these days.
California wants to secede, the Pacific Northwest wants to secede, Texas wants to secede. None of them are going to be allowed to. That's why we fought the Civil War, to clarify that a state could not secede if it wanted to.

Probably go as far a California secession...nowhere.
Shhhhhhh... you're not supposed to bring that up. We are here to stereotype and bash one side. Pointing out this movement in California, and the fact that the OP chose to ignore it, makes people aware of double standards.
