In January, Trudeau tweeted: "To those fleeing persecution, terror and war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength."
Now, in late August, when faced with a flood of 3,800 in the first two weeks of August, on top of the almost 3,000 in July; the mostly Haitian illegal-immigrants coming across the U.S. border into Quebec, are maybe not so welcomed....

"If I could directly speak to people seeking asylum, I'd like to remind them there's no advantage," Trudeau said at a news conference Sunday in Montreal.
Canada is awesome. However he mentioned "fleeing persecution" and the quote mentioned Haitians. That's fleeing economic misery not persecution. Send them back.

I was, however, taking a jab at how politicians', even seemingly politic, statements can come back to bite them. If we educated folk are guilty of headline reading, imagine how an uber poor, illiterate, multi-country illegal or legal immigrant can misunderstand, misinterpret and misconstrue a statement like Premier Trudeau's January,
'Aren't we just the nicest, most civil country, as compared to those nasty Americans; led of course by that mean, intolerant nasty-man of them all, Donny Drumpf.', political points statement.
You understand the sarcasm, I'm sure. Just in case.

They are fleeing the United States. Refugees are vetted before they can come into Canada but then they can come. How are procedures so difficult for some people to understand? Sending them back sends them to the US. They were I believe refugees from the massive earthquake.
