Silicon valley has really turned ugly since the election.

"That’s what my lawsuit is about,” she said. “We filed a lawsuit against the U.S. government for Section 230 under the FEC code that gives Facebook and YouTube and Twitter this immunity against these lawsuits. That has to change.

PayPal did indeed suspend my account after a hit piece by ProPublica, a George Soros-funded uber-left quote-unquote ‘think tank,’ as it were,” said Geller, venturing that not much thinking seemed to be going on at the think tank in question.

“This is in the aftermath of Charlottesville. The left is using Charlottesville to move in for the kill and crush anyone who dissents,” she said. “ProPublica did this piece, and the reporter, Lauren Kirchner, had written to me and asked me a series of questions. Clearly, one could see from the questions that it was a set-up.”

“She had asked me, ‘Have you been shut down by other tech companies for being a hate site?’ I mean, you have to love the assumption that I’m a hate site because I cover jihad terror-related news and sharia. That’s the focus of the website,” Geller said.

What happened to the conservative love for the free market and the rights of private businesses? At any time a member of the alt-right is free to open their own tech company that will serve the hate speech market niche.

Also too, how is this an assault on the 1st Amendment when we are discussing the actions of a privately owned business like Google or Paypal?

It's a problem when a company is a monopoly.

How do they justify allowing ISIS and jihad groups but banning family or conservative groups?

Yes they are, and have tremendous power with some bordering on monopolies. Google, Yahoo, MSN, Amazon, Comcast, etc. They control the flow of information, and are censoring anything in which they disagree which is always conservative speech. They are de facto GOVERNMENT.

Default This is getting entertaining...

So - "I should have the right to use your infrastructure to spread my message for free!" is a conservative principle now? I bet you call Millennials "entitled", too.

The fact that you want government to intercede on your behalf while at the same time decrying "statism" is just the crowning hypocritical turd in the waterpipe.

These guys think they are untouchable, the government went after Microsoft and its really never been the same company since, alot of people believe that case was why bill gates stepped down as chief executive..The government almost broke up microsoft and it certainly has a case with antitrust at alot of the left wing authoritarian companies, including amazon.

These guys should have stayed out of politics and actually been libertarians like many said they were, instead of left wing censors

I hate more government regulation. However, what is the purpose of government in instances like these? You're OK with what these companies are doing because you agree with hem politically. Should they not be held to the same standard as other industries?

Instead of doing all the thing government SHOULDN'T be doing, especially the un-Constitutional stuff, they should be doing what they are there to do.

SV with google and facebook etc., will most certainly be more strictly regulated in the near future. The wolves are showing themselves now as the facade of altruism, freedom of expression, fun and positive vibes has been re soundly shattered. Google is now enjoying absolute power and will undoubtedly slip up as all do when in an intoxicated state.

How nice it is to see anti technocrat voices finally been raised about the emergence of tech and social media entities as all consuming behemoths with plans to direct our lives at any cost. What a coincidence, much of the trouble and strife so prevalent in our times befalls us at the same time SV and social media make even greater inroads into our very existence.
