John McCain is back, returning to Washington with a message for his colleagues in the age of President Donald Trump.
McCain picked up Friday where he left off, before going home to Arizona to begin cancer treatment, insistent as ever that Congress must exercise its role as a check on executive power, even if that means going against the leader of his OWN Republican Party.
Congress must govern with a president who has no experience of public office, is often poorly informed and can be impulsive in his speech and conduct," McCain wrote in an op-ed in The Washington Post
"We must respect his authority and constitutional responsibilities. We must, where we can, cooperate with him. But we are not his subordinates. We don't answer to him. We answer to the American people," McCain went on.
"We must be diligent in discharging our responsibility to serve as a check on his power. And we should value our identity as members of Congress more than our partisan affiliation."
While I agree with McCain's train of thought here our government doesn't answer to anyone unless their is money involved or something to gain from it.
IF your party is doing something you know IS wrong then he's right again you have to take a stand.

A little late, McCain. It's a wonder his head hasn't fallen off yet, with all the about-face he's doing lately.
Bah! What a joke. This is in part why Trump won. Our other "representatives" do not represent the people in their districts. For a very long time. That is what "drain the swamp" is about. That is why some Dems held their noses and voted for Trump and why some Republicans overlook distasteful parts of Trumps personal life. They thought he might be different. They thought he might drive change on a larger scale.
Will it happen? I doubt it. At least, things will likely get worse before they get better.
One has to understand McCain does what is best for McCain. The American People wanted to help fix Health Care and secure our borders.
He has done nether.!
He talked the game and now he cowards back and is lined to be being paid off by Clintons.

HUGE SECRET EXPOSED WHAT HE HAS BEEN DOING BEHIND THE SCENES ..... Wonder how much he
I don't understand how anyone can take issue with what he said. We elect our senators and congress people to represent us, then we decide whether to re-elect them. Of course they answer to us and not potus.
Eh, I was told the other day that Americans do not support the wars.
If that was the case, who is it that McCain is answering to?
