And he leads by a wide margin in most of the run-off polls. It's an indication of just how far to the right the Republicans are in Alabama and just how powerful Christian evangelicals are there.

If elected, at least he'll be a convenient sock puppet the left can point to as an example of how extreme the current GOP has become.

how many have actually read the speech and know what he said and how he said it. Just the source, CNN and the he indicated, that maybe, there is a connection with God for all this, doesn't really mean he said, God is punishing us. I agree even indicating this is plain crazy. I don't see anything wrong with his having the commandments posted or saying a prayer. Don't want to pray just don't.

How about if we have some Muslim dogma on the wall and start every session with a prayer in Islam? Would you be good with that? I mean, if you don't want to pray, just don't pray, right?

See, there's a reason we keep religion outside of our public institutions. The fact that I know you would not be good with my suggestion above is that reason.
