From reading the last few pages one would get the impression that in Vietnam in the late 60's the My Lai massacre happened, and nothing else worth talking about.

It was covered in last night's installment. Also included Kent State.

I saw last night's installment. A lot was covered. Wouldn't know it by reading this discussion. The subject's also been popping up for days now. Almost a fetish.

All the “massacres “ combined are nothing compared to the carpet bombings of IndoChina (Laos, Cambodia and Nam). That’s all napalms, agent orange ... even reporters want to lie about their existence.

Well gee, it was a rather distressing incident.

Bit of a difference.

The enemy was dug down in Hue right next to lots of civilians. Expelling them inevitably caused a lot of collateral damage to life and property. Similar to the Gaza Strip.

My Lai did not need to be taken from the VC/NVA. The civilians were intentionally killed.

So "My Lai is the only thing that happened in the late 60's in Vietnam worth mentioning" is still your final answer?
