Very true, survivors are very stressed after a natural disaster. They aren't thinking right and do things they may not otherwise do. Maybe she had hungry kids and needed her kitchen to be back up and working.
You don't think of manners at a time like that.
Was she a jerk? Yes. Is it indicative of anything other than she maybe in a strange mental state? No.
I work for an ISP. When we have issues at work we are told to hide our badges and work shirts (for those with a uniform) away from work. You'd be amazed how uncivilized and unhinged some freaks can get.
the woman i question was probably a 20 something brat who never had to deal with adversity other than not getting a toy she wanted for christmas one year.
When my power goes out, I go to the garage and get the generator (life back to normal in 15 minutes).
Were the generator to not work, I have a couple inverters that will run off car batteries.
If that fails, I have a solar cell kit that will charge a phone and an AM radio.
Worst case scenario: I ice down a cooler and grill outdoors while perfecting my tan and listening to Rush!
