I don't know about that , but if JFK came back today, he would be a republican. LOL
A few years ago I would have disagreed.
However given how far to the left the party has moved and given how Jim Webb got driven out of the party. I have no doubt Kennedy would be driven out of the party now. So would Truman
An example of what I'm talking about is the Trans Pacific Partnership. Given Reagan's advocacy of free (or "freer" if you prefer) trade, he probably would be supporting the TPP if he were still around today. However, such a stance would land him in traitor-globalist waters in the minds of many Trumpites.
No, Trump is the RINO. And he doesn't dispute it. He and his supporters have been almost as antagonistic to establishment Republicans as they are to Democrats.
If people knew then what they know now, Reagan never would have been President. among the things he did was saturate America with Drugs From Coast to Coast - Top to Bottom.... and damaged State Universities and Community Colleges to such a degree, they have never recovered to do what they were once capable of doing.
He was fond of the social wars instituted by the so-called Moral Majority, breaking unions, deregulating the stock market so bankers could go crazy and ramped up military spending so corporations could get rich. He’s a significant reason why such a large gap between rich and poor exists today. Other than favoring immigration reform and not starting a major war, he’d fit in pretty well in today’s GOP. He probably would not like Trump, but most other Republicans don’t either.
Of course, Reagan would be considered a RINO. As California governor, he signed some of the most restrictive gun laws. As President, he raised taxes and embraced free trade. But his biggest flaw in the eyes of today's crazed conservatives is that he was pragmatists and worked closely with Democrats, especially House Speaker, Tip O'Neil.
