NC is now the 10th largest state in the Union. Much of it is because from people exiting from "Blue" states.

Puerto Rico is the result of many things including losing a lot of tax breaks that made it financially successful over the years and then a hurricane. The tax breaks they lost resulted in many companies leaving and jobs being reduced. Republicans don't want it to be a state because they fear it will change the Senate (they would lose their majority). Trying to equate that to healthcare?

In this link is a video of Trump entering the room - Rand Paul can't even look at him.

People are so funny. Dear Leader can say any crazy $hit he wants, fact is insurance companies wont compete across state lines or in new markets because it's hideously expensive to do so. The time and money involved with setting up provider networks who can service your insured patients is more than the ROI to do it. Essentially health insurers don't want to compete for health providers. Once again, the party of business shows a complete lack in understanding of...business.

THANK YOU!!! There is nothing stopping them now in many instances from competing across state lines. It is an administrative nightmare which is why they don't do it.

I feel the same way about the people in Texas, Florida and PR who voted for their corrupt leadership that got them in to the mess they are in now. I feel for the entire US who voted the corrupt clown in to the WH and got us in the mess we are in now with nuclear trash talk, war on free speech, war on American pastimes, dividing Americans against each other, and most likely a soon-to-be economic recession.

Republicans have been peddling the "buying insurance across state lines" BS as some sort of magic fix for healthcare for at least 2 decades. It will accomplish absolutely nothing.

Affordability Of Care
Elderly cannot be charged more than 3x a young person’s premium.
It's not really a cap. It's actually a "peg," meaning that all an insurer has to do to increase premiums charged to the elderly is to raise them across the board.

You might have had a minor point IF the young person's premium was fixed at a given rate, and could not be increased under any circumstances. That would be a cap.

That's not what we have here. Young persons' premiums are subject to increase, hence the elderly persons' premiums are as well.

Conclusion: The rates are not capped. Period. Not for the young, the middle-aged, or the elderly. End of story. Rather...one group of premiums is merely pegged to another, and if the peg rate can increase, so will rates for everyone else.

9 times out of 10 it ends up being some local or county reg anyway that that blame Obama for.
