It is now crystal clear, based on video evidence that John Kelly was 100% wrong regarding the comments he made about Congresswoman Wilson bragging about obtaining funding for the new federal building in Florida.
What she did do, was give effusive praise to the two fallen FBI agents and describe her role in getting their names on the building, but also acknowledged the help of many others, both democrats and republicans. The fact that she received a standing ovation for her remarks at the end of her speech, makes Kelly's comment about both what she said, and his "empty barrel" reference about her even more egregious.
In addition given what we have all come to learn about Wilson's active involvement in the uplifting of her home district, she hardly comes across as an empty barrel, as she has been a tireless advocate for the at risk youth in her community, by sponsoring a mentorship program with an enrollment of 5,000 kids.
Frankly, until this recent incident I had viewed Kelly as somewhat of an honest broker in the Trump WH but I now have my doubts. At any rate, he needs to apologize to Ms. Wilson either publicly or privately and the sooner the better. Not to do so makes him both a liar, just like his boss, and someone lacking in the moral fiber that he had heretofore displayed.
Do the right thing General and separate yourself from the current occupant of the WH and his propensity to show a shred of human decency.
We don't know what she said privately to Kelly and officials after the cameras stopped rolling. Tooting her own horn makes a lot of noise in an empty barrel.
Since she is your heroine, are you going to dress as her for Halloween? You won't need an actual costume, just copy her 'business attire'

Unless Kelly has proof of what she said, he needs to apologize. The fact is she did have proof of what she said and it proved Kelly was a liar.
She did, though, spend up to three minutes talking about an effort she did lead — to have the building named after the special agents, Ben Grogan and Jerry Dove, who were killed in a 1986 gun battle in Miami. She recounted how she was asked by the FBI four weeks earlier to expedite a bill through Congress to name the building after Grogan and Dove. She said the process normally takes eight months to a year.
“I went into attack mode,” she told the audience. She said she approached then-Speaker John Boehner, telling him “the FBI needs your help and our country needs your help.” She said Boehner got the bill to the House floor for a vote in two days. She said she then rushed the bill to Florida Sens. Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio, who got the bill passed by that chamber two days later. President Barack Obama signed the bill three days before the dedication ceremony. The audience responded with loud applause.
Yes, bold sounds like bragging, fishing for compliments to me.
It does look like this is her pattern, making it all about her.
Gen Kelly wasn't wrong about her. So No, he doesn't owe her an apology.
Apologize for what? What she said was proven by Kelly himself and by the widow and everyone else in the car at that time.
she should apologize for making the issue political. trump was, in a bumbling manner, trying to offer up his condolences to the grieving family, and ms wilson went on tv and told everyone that would listen that trump was being insensitive on the issue, and she was making it about politics.
