Criminals will always find a way to get a gun. No matter what. Yes, it is absolutely horrible that sick people are killing others and than offing themselves before they can be brought to justice. If they are caught, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
I am for citizens being able to purchase guns for protection, hunting, collecting.
Except when the bad guy shoots himself in the head, after he shoots the innocents, which is quickly becoming the norm these days.
What do you think should happen to these lone wolves if they were to fail to "off" themselves in time before they're caught?
What WOULD happen to them, given today's political climate?
They would go to prison, and if they were in a state with the death penalty, they would get the death penalty. That’s what will happen to Dylan Roof. He’s going to die, and meanwhile people will ignore him and leave him to his fate.
In todays world climate if a shooter is captured alive he needs to be interrogated to find out if he has any ties to terrorism or if he has any would be copycat friends that are gearing up for another attack.
He should then be thrown into a jail cell and left to rot. Better yet he would be quickly put to death so we didn't have to support him and listen to appeals etc...
What kind of stupid question is this? No one is defending these people, what "should" happen to them? Prison followed by hanging. What would happen in todays political climate? That depends on the race of the shooter. Dylan Roof was 24x7 news for weeks, Emanuel Kidega was a blip on the radar then ignored.
If all the non NRA members stopped shooting people "gun violence" would drop by 99%.

Lack of good guys with guns
Lack of fast response of good guys with guns and badges (could add in lack of training to respond to such an event)
Gun free zones
They should be dead to rights for committing acts of terrorism.
Remove a scumbags incentive, they won't commit atrocities of this degree.
