Well sexual assault allegations are proven to be able to force a politician out of office.
Given how dirty politics are, you're going to see more real allegations come out along with false ones, blackmail attempts and even "honey pot" traps like brit tabloids have used over the years.
It is interesting to see how this whole #MeToo movement plays out. The movement certainly has claimed more leftists/Dems than it has conservatives/Republicans (I'm actually not surprised by that), but in terms of resignations, suspensions, and allegations in general. I have been and remain opposed to ruining someone based on mere allegations (especially allegations that cannot feasible be proved) and believe that this movement is going to come back to haunt its major defenders in the ass (as its already doing).
The 13-page document, which ABC had obtained from sources, resembles a legal complaint filed by a former Schumer staffer in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. It appears to detail alleged incidents of sexual harassment directed at one of his female staffers on Capitol Hill.
During a phone conversation, the former staffer said flatly that she never experienced any misconduct during her time on Schumer’s staff and never filed a complaint with the Hill’s Office of Compliance.
“The claims in this document are completely false, my signature is forged and even basic facts about me are wrong,” the former staffer listed as the plaintiff in the document told ABC News in a statement.

No, the ball is not in Chuck Schumer's court. There is no accuser when the person who supposedly filed the complain denies it.
Just a poorly executed right wing attempt at a smear job.
Claims ABC news. Didn't they just suspend an anchor for reporting fake news?
