From Politico Magazine -

"Despite several landmark legislative wins this year, and a better-than-expected relationship with President Donald Trump, Ryan has made it known to some of his closest confidants that this will be his final term as speaker. He consults a small crew of family, friends and staff for career advice, and is always cautious not to telegraph his political maneuvers. But the expectation of his impending departure has escaped the hushed confines of Ryan’s inner circle and permeated the upper-most echelons of the GOP. In recent interviews with three dozen people who know the speaker—fellow lawmakers, congressional and administration aides, conservative intellectuals and Republican lobbyists—not a single person believed Ryan will stay in Congress past 2018."

I have to admit I didn't see this coming. Good for him.

Now if only Mitch McConnell would go. Judging by all that Botox in his forehead, I'm sure he'd be happier as a woman.

Drain the Swamp!

But I'll believe Ryan is leaving when I see it. Politico is a left wing site.

Be careful what you wish for. I suspect the House will end up electing someone much more amenable to Trump's wishes

After he does his bloody knife work on the ordinary American people, he knows he may not be re-elected. He has the mark of Cain on him.

Probably some well-heeled donor has lined him up with a cushy lobbying position.

“Landmark legislative wins?” Such as?

He’s as complicit as most Republicans in the pillaging of American decency and norms. He can now go work for lobbyists on K street.

I'm guessing that your right. I'm betting Ryan is getting out before Trump goes under.

If this news is true that Ryan is stepping down, your theory makes perfect sense. Getting the hell out of there before **** hits the fan.
