Maybe they will legalize opiates so we can all be miserable (or happy) together as Rome falls?

Yes, I'm doing great in the markets as usual, thanks for noticing. How are your index funds?

The amount lost due to theta decay was easily offset by the volatility gain as expected, thats the reason for using options at strategic strikes and volatility levels.

Every one on the internet is a market genius and good looking.

The fact is millions of Americans have had two years of little return despite our government running massive deficits.

26100 today - 21 months.
at 2% market would be 26,200.42

So, yeah, we are at 2% now. Close to the inflation number. In other words, no return.
Compared to 20 months ago, we are in negative territory.

Literally ALL of the market's gain since the 2016 election was based on EXPECTATIONS that he would be good for the market - NOT based on what he's ACTUALLY DONE. That's WHY all of the market's gains were front-loaded (ie took place either BEFORE Trump was actually in office or BEFORE Trump's policies began to have affects). Once it became clear what the Great Pumpkin actually WAS DOING (ie, chaos foreign policy, ill-conceived trade wars etc) the markets came to a crashing halt - with ZERO (as of this moment) net gains since that time. Oh, the market does rise some, but then falls back down again when the idiot in chief opens his big mouth or flexes those stubby little fingers on those tiny little hands of his.

What a loser.
Actually on 2nd thought - it's America and the whole world - who are the losers in all this.
We'd have been much better off if intelligent Americans had voted instead of trusting their fate to Trump's deplorables - those folks are dumber than a a brick (as we are now seeing).

My index funds have done well through the years. As have my managed funds like the Fidelity Contrafund (thank you Will Danoff). Also my REIT funds and international funds have done well. I also own some individual company stocks that have done well.

The interesting thing is that many of us have been proven 100% right and more. It's not to say we "wished for" failure and a recession, but anyone who knows Trump or who has looked at the merry-go-round of his admin and revolving doors and unfilled positions and bad policies knows there can only be one end.

Sorry, but reality is reality.

"Results were disastrous for leading Asian automakers Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co., which both suffered double-digit declines that were worse than analysts anticipated. While a fuller picture will emerge Wednesday when General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co. are due to report, the poor performance suggests that overall deliveries of cars and light trucks could come in worse than the 12% drop anticipated by analysts, based on six estimates."

We are already in a Recession in everything but name. Remember, less people are covered with health care....at HIGHER costs. So GDP grows when health care cost per (even with less served) and when the Security State spends big......so that can avoid a "measured" recession, but the real story is US. Normal people...the markets...pensions, IRA's, benefits, car sales and everything else.

We don't celebrate growth of health care spending and the security state as "great".
