Then we are finished. And those who made it happen, will be finished also. If only they had the sense to see what they're doing, before it's too late.

Trump has even got Fox beat in that department.

He's only 55. This seems to scream either 2020 pres run or governorship.

the "Left" is not the POTUS. The POTUS is supposed to show some decorum, some respect for others. There is no need for Trump to disparage other nations, either publicly or privately.

If you still don't understand think of it from a selfish "america first " viewpoint. ...As a nation we need to maintain long term good relationships with other nations. Trump being nasty and low brow makes it harder for an American corp to do business there. Next time we are trying to cut a deal with an African nation is leaders will have a harder time selling that deal to the public, and in fact may find it easier and better to use Trump's comments to make political capital locally.

surely you can understand that ? And now you know, know you understand why is it stupid for leaders to be buttheads and say stupid things.

Most business people will tell you the same thing Nice4, you don't say and do stuff that creates enemies when you don't have too. you don't, because it will come back to bite you in the butt.

Manners don't cost much.

and remember "whataboutism" ref flyover states does not wash away what TRump is saying and doing.

Nope you are wrong, and you know it too, but you are out of excuses for Trump/FOX and thus need to create excuses. CNN is widely respected around the globe and has better reputation for truth than FOX does. and that is simply a statement of fact. Fox is nothing more than extension of Trumpism. The Murdoch brothers don't like it but they are reluctant to stop it, because FOX news is their biggest profit center.

Yep.

Then we'll be in the same position the Russian people are -- standing in the street while the oligarchs rob them blind.

According to Flake, Trump uses language very similar to Stalin, especially when it comes to his "enemies". Nothing bespeaks Stalinism more than saying the press is the "enemy of the people", and discrediting the truth. It is the language that Trump uses that resounds of dictators. Perhaps more Peronism than Stalinism.

Trumpism is anti-Americanism. It is like a foreign ideology that besmirches the Constitution and the great institutions of this Country.

Too bad so many people are too blind or ignorant to see the truth of Trump and Trumpism.
jeff fake is just that, a fake republican. he needs to just switch to the democrat party and stay there, since he sounds more like pelosi and schummer everyday.

We have never had a President run such an organized campaign to de-legitimize the role of the Free press.

With his harping on the libel laws and demands of "loyalty" from the FBI, Trump is hunting at his desire to extend the punitive measures at his command to also harm his critics.

Both of these are entirely un-American and dangerous to a democracy.
Re: the bolded...no, we have never had a President who fights back against biased "news". The press is supposed to be fair and impartial, no?

"Media coverage of Trump’s early days was far more negative overall than coverage of past administrations, according to the report published Monday by the Pew Research Center. During the first days of President Barack Obama’s administration, 42 percent of the stories were positive. President George W. Bush was covered 22 percent positively, and President Bill Clinton garnered 27 percent positive news coverage. But Trump is covered positively just five percent of the time."

The Media Really Does Hate Trump, Study Shows

Even hugely notable events such as the continued breakthroughs in the Dow, the almost total defeat of ISIS, and Trump's successful overseas trips have barely received coverage, while the news cycle continues to salivate over "Russia, Russia, Russia."

Meanwhile, the Obama Administration had quite a complicated relationship with the press. Much of the time, the liberal press carried Obama's water, and over the course of his presidency, the kinds of "softball" questions he got became quite notable. Remember the question about what Obama's favorite flavor of ice cream was?

For anyone who was less amenable, the Administration was less than friendly.

Fox News was enemy number one:

"Over the weekend, White House communications director Anita Dunn announced the official beginning of the Obama administration’s war with Fox News. Of course, the battle has been openly brewing for months now. Even during the campaign, Obama’s team gave up on sending surrogates to the network. “It was beyond diminishing returns,” Dunn told the New York Times. “It was no returns.” But now the war is out in the open. “We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent,” she told the paper. “As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.” Yesterday on CNN, she clarified: “Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.”

Why Declaring War on Fox News Could Be a Mistake for Obama - Slideshow - Daily Intel

The Obama Admin pursued James Rosen's emails, wiretapped the AP, would not allow photos released unless they were taken by the official WH photographer, scolded reporters who asked tough questions, and Obama once went 10 months without giving a press conference.

As far as harming one's critics, the award would go to Obama, with the weaponized IRS, Dinesh D'Souza's jail sentence (the time did not fit the crime), etc.

Then we had the wonderful presidency of George W., who was content to roll over and play dead while the press accused him of letting thousands die in New Orleans because he "didn't like black people".

So, no, Trump is not Stalin-esque in his approach to the press. He is merely pointing out their bias and their spin and their agenda. It is about dang time someone did.

(This is, incidentally, why leftists are so insistent that Trump give up social media. Trump doesn't need the press if he can communicate directly).
