Yah, and I see another comment from someone with the same thought- we gotta kick out all the chinese nationals. They steal. They rob us blind...

lets start a list of all the crap they have stolen, I'll go first:

1. Supercomputer tech (and then Slick Willy gave them what they didn't steal.)
2. Nuclear warhead designs
3. Nuclear warhead trigger designs
4. ICBM command and control designs
5. ICBM re-entry body designs
6. ICBM MIRV designs

...getting scared yet?.....

7. Biological warfare stockpile information
8. High energy physics codes (useful in nuclear weapon simulations)
9. nanotechnology IP (of many kinds)
10. Next generation semiconductor IP (many companies victimized)

anyone else?
Except China controls most of the trade in rare earth minerals needed for solar panels. So no as of right now we can't make them without importing something from China.

How is it possible people cannot understand when trump pronounces actions like this, it is to better his negotiating position. Trump will do nothing to squash jobs in America.

If anything, it is an attempt to get America on the ball and do its own manufacturing. instead of being dependent on an unfriendly competitor. You don't want America to be the center of excellence of solar panel development and production?

How many solar factories did Obama claim were going to produce jobs manufacturing solar panels. Obama blew 500 million dollars on just one failed solar company and in retrospect called it a good investment.

Obama was the kiss of death to the US solar industry as far as manufacturing.

That's possible because of state mandates for renewable energy. I would suggest your demand from you state legislators they lift mandates for renewable energy and both your electric and tax rates will go down.

This is great example of why we need to impose these tariffs. "Rare" earth metals are not that rare, China was dumping them onto the market and now monopolizes that industry. There was a lot of mines here in the US mining many of these elements 2 decades ago. They have long history of picking very specific industries and doing this;tires, steel, solar panels, etc. etc.

This forum seems to be ripe with suckers that don't grasp the difference between rhetoric and negotiation.

The whole thing is great but if you go to the 3:30 mark, you'll get the key point.

You seriously didn't know they did that? China has been buying stuff from us and reverse engineering it for Years and years. They take all the specs, make cheap copies, and flood the markets here with them, with no penalties for Copyright or Patent infringement. Good for Trump. Make America strong and level the playing field.

BS. The reason for International Labor and Cheap products by our Business folks is all about the dollar. They get cheaper labor, and cheaper products they can sell for more money. Your talking about Capital Greed, not fair trade.
