I don't think so. Stores big and small have been closing all over the country, due to overwhelming competition from online companies, such as Amazon. At least the situation isn't affecting the opening of new fast food places, but they don't pay much.

However, the town Amazon chooses for its 2nd HQ will see gang buster growth. Also big companies will be checking out the latest in automation in order to lay off workers. If GDP growth goes over 3 or 4%, it won't last long.

Sometimes I think these whiners wake up the morning after Trump announces a new tax plan, and wonder why their wallets aren't already thicker.

You won't admit that, but it is the truth.

I thought the moment Trump took office, the markets would crash ? Now it's Obama's seeds growing ?

Liberals know Obama had 8 years, but expect Trump to fix it in one.

When you read all these stories about bonuses (I gave bigger ones in my ma and pa shop in 1988) - and jobs and factories (closing some hiring).....all in all it means nothing. No one here can truly keep track of all the ins and outs - that's why they have GDP numbers!

2.6% - lower than the post WWII average even tho he was handed the best "hand" possible. Heck, the days of Clinton at close to 4% are looking fine....
Be careful getting excited that GDP was slow because the tax cut just took effect and 2018 is going to make you sad and America ecstatic with success....2018 great success will lead to the Dems getting wiped out in the 2018 election....can't wait

Slow, steady growth is what we want. 4+% is unsustainable and greatly increases the chance of a crash.

We are keeping track and Trump is a welcome relief from the old, in and out

They don't actually believe they would be thicker, of course. They are simply hoping there's enough equally stupid people out there, that the liberals can fool into thinking THEIR wallets should be thicker.

Most liberal rhetoric boils down to a hope that Americans are stupid enough to believe their fibs.
Libs are only interested in stealing others money (redistribution via unfair taxes). They have no interest in working for it.

Speaking of being disappointed, it appears Tall Traveler should be disappointed in the following prediction of his, made in December 2016:

On a quarterly basis, so far in the last year we've had GDP growth of:

1.2%
3.1%
3.2%
2.6%

The lowest one of those, 1.2%, is most certainly lower than Obama's highest number of +4.6% in Q2 2014. Even if we don't count Q1 because Trump wasn't president the entire quarter, 2.6% from Q4 is still lower than Obama's high number.

On a yearly basis, Obama's highest number was +2.9% in 2015. Even if we assume last year's 2.3% rate will be Trump's lowest, it is still lower than Obama's highest at 2.9%.

So no matter how you look at it, his prediction failed.
