The wall helps us accomplish both of these.
Walls don't train anyone, and the people in coal country are not losing jobs to illegals they are losing jobs because people are not using coal as much anymore. Same with factory workers, retraining in new and emerging fields are what is needed

The U.S. isn't the only country with a president who takes shots at critics on Twitter. Vicente Fox, who made history in Mexico in 2000 when he became the first president to break 71 years of one party rule, is taking aim at President Trump.
He's frequently criticized the Trump Administration on Twitter and on air.

Fox, who served as president of Mexico for
six years until 2006, also wrote a book that in part looks at Trump and the U.S.'s relationship with Mexico. It's called Let's Move On: Beyond Fear & False Prophets. The book highlights the North American Free Trade Agreement between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Trump has said his administration is renegotiating the terms of NAFTA. Fox argues that, "It's key and crucial that we keep ourselves united, and that we keep being the largest consumer market in the world."
Fox spoke with NPR's Lulu Garcia-Navarro about the book, his views on the Trump Administration and what he hopes for the relationship between the U.S. and Mexico.

We're going to secure our borders----especially with Mexico. Immigration will get a much-needed revision as well. Invaders go away, and anchor babies will be the next task.

who gives a cr@p what a former Mexican President that had one of the most corrupt administrations in Mexico thinks about Trump and our immigration laws?

He should be more concern why his country is dysfunctional, poor and corrupt and the drug cartels run his country.

The cojones this man has to come here and trash our country and give advise.....what a joke!

Yet another ridiculous post.

"Racist president"? Wanting to protect our border is not racist---and you know it, too. Put away that race card of yours. It doesn't work anymore.

The only reason for the wall is as a monument to Trump. The idea that a wall will keep people out is idiotic. Drug cartels are already using ultralight aircraft to deliver their wares over the border. For less than $100 you can buy a drone at wmart that will easily navigate a wall and could be outfitted to carry a small load of drugs. It won't be too far in the future when an affordable drone will be able to carry a person up and over the wall.

BTW, while the talking heads news keeps the people glued to the tv screen with Trump's wall, alleged sex crimes of thirty years past, and the killer flu, you better take a look at who's next in sights of our war mongers. It looks like Iran is high on the list.
Remember Iraq, WMD's were going to kill the world, but none were found. Thousands of American military dead or crippled, over one million Iraqi's killed and who knows how many injured. Not to mention the trillions of dollars spent and unaccounted for.
When the talking heads have you looking at their right hand you better watch their left hand.

The infrastructure required to build and protect the wall will cost more than building the actual wall itself.

And how is training US citizens going to secure the border? Unless you're training them as border guards and posting them there it won't. Training someone to work in a factory isn't going to do squat to secure the border.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to drop those that employ illegals into gator traps?

We are spending far more on welfare and free healthcare/education for the illegals that that. Some estimates put it to 130 billion a year. They are a net loss to the economy, and a fraction of a single year's loss pays for the wall.

Yes, we know he is against the wall. He is not looking out for America’s best interests. He is looking out for Mexico’s best interest. He doesn’t want anything to impede Mexico’s poorest people from coming here for us to take care of. Why else could he possibly even care? He doesn’t pay taxes here, so he can’t even use the “cost” excuse.
There was a huge stampede of illegals across the border when Big Corp Ag put all the family farms out of business in Mexico with Nafta.
