WATCH LIVE: Kennedy to give Democratic response to State of the Union

"The newest generation of the Kennedy political dynasty will be introduced to a national audience Tuesday night as he delivers the Democratic response to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union.
Rep. Joe Kennedy III, a 37-year-old Massachusetts congressman and grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, says Democrats should focus on the economic worries of working-class voters who bolted the party in the 2016 elections.

Moderator cut: copyright violation

Formal introduction to the national stage? He'll be 40 years old in 2020.

There's nobody left in the DNC hierarchy that isn't senile or damaged goods. So they go back to ancient history to drag a name out that still has some positive( but not much) resonance.

We shall see...the younger electorate might well be tired of the geezers and ready to get behind a younger candidate.

Given the fact that the younger electorate overwhelmingly reject inherited wealth as the condemnable sin of "White privilege," the Dems' trotting out of a dynastic Kennedy is a ridiculously tone-deaf move. They're scraping the bottom of the barrel. They can present no viable alternatives.

Quote:
"Representative Kennedy has an estimated net worth of $43.2 M as of 2014, making him one of the wealthiest members of Congress and the richest among all members from Massachusetts.

Kennedy's net worth was 41 times more than the average member of Congress and 51 times more than the average representative."

Political dynasties are a pox. I'll never vote for a born into politics individual again.

Joe Kennedy = #WhitePrivilege and #InheritedWealth

That's who the Dems are going with for the spotlight SOTU rebuttal?

A younger electorate might like someone younger but its not like they will remember when the Kennedy's
were a power in politics. The Dems have a trust issue and the Kennedy name might appeal to older voters who were alive and remember.
He might be able to reach more people who will listen just to see what a Kennedy has to say. Trying to reach the Dems, that for good cause, have abandoned a party that abandoned them. The biggest problem is still the message. We know what the Dems stand for and its not the message he says he is bringing.
We've seen their ideas on equality, economic dignity, health care, and justice. It looks like a pig and a Kennedy is lipstick.

No matter who spews the hate and fear mongering democrat mantra, it appears to most conscious people that the democrats are living in some altered parallel universe.

If the media did their job they would show clips of all the top dems, including Obama, declaring their support for positions Trump now proposes and to which they now object.

Case in point, Obama sets up a site for people to explain how important 40$ is in their life. then Pelosi blows off 1000$ bonuses as chump change.

"Obama will point people to a new section of the White House website where they can “share what a $40 paycheck means to them.” In addition, he’ll urge them to make use of a new Twitter hashtag, #40dollars."

Repubs are dumber than rocks while the dems are devoid of ethics and embrace hate and fear as their means of forwarding their political agenda. Matters not they divide the country to weaken it.

Where is Keith Ellison or DWS or EW? How about the drama queen corey booker? How about the two shills the dems used in the primaries to make it seem Hillary was fighting for the right to be the dems 2016 prez candidate??????

Joe kennedy is the new face of the dems and no one told the afore mentioned democrat luminaries.

Joe Kennedy is a great guy. Some people actually vote according to the candidate's qualifications, regardless of the "name." But the truth is that it wouldn't make any difference who the Democrats chose to give the response. Trump supporters and Republicans in general are so brainwashed (willing to destroy the government in a desperate effort to save the behind of one corrupt man in the White House) and blindly hateful (bootlickers of the wealthy and the elite, dismissive of the average American), they would pi$$ on anybody the Democrats selected.
