The Times quotes Delavan as saying that he actually recognized that the email was a hoax—but mistakenly typed the word legitimate when he meant to type illegitimate. The implication was that the Clinton campaign was compromised not by incompetence, but by a slip of the fingers.
This is a lie - since according to the email, he told him directly to change his password with two factor authentication.
Fishy stuff here...
So this guy is actually a political science major, and has taken some computer science classes, and is a gamer. Maybe the guy was just distracted and not paying attention - being in his 20s when this went down.
I will file that away. I am done with that diversion.
There is nothing stopping states from doing this now. That they do not simply means that the politicians are only interested in keeping this an issue to divide people.
