Take that however you want, but I do think this will be a very large-scale fight in Congress, with some ugly repercussions if attempts are made to replace Kennedy with anyone more conservative than him.

I bet that is on many Marxist wish list.

The only large scale fights, are going to be in the heads of the mentally insane loony left.

Another textualist, up to bat!

Do you know who Robert Bork was?

He was the super conservative Reagan appointee who was rejected by a Democratic Senate for being too conservative. Anthony Kennedy was the compromise pick who replaced him, and in many cases Kennedy has ruled against conservative interests.

If Obama had nominated a judge who would consider voting against liberal interests that judge may have earned a hearing. But thus far liberal judges have been pretty lockstep.

The Garland gambit could have also backfired if Hillary won. A more liberal nominee would probably have been put forth in that case.

He did with Neil Gorsuch. In any case, expect another nominee who is as close to Neil Gorsuch in every regard as possible, and you will not be far wrong.

Conservatives lost Bork. Maybe what went around already came around?

In which universe is Gorsuch considered to ba a moderate? We are doomed as a country. Any notions of equality or fairness are now gone. Kennedy should have hung on for a few more years.

Sounds good to me. Trump appointed him to the sixth circuit, so he will already be familiar with him.
