I tend to distrust the motives of people who try to publicly prove what upright, god-fearing, and moral citizens they are. Shades of Ted Haggard.
I know what you mean. Brings to mind the democrat senator from California, Yee. An anti gun activist who sold fully automatic weapons and rocket launchers and other weapons of war to anyone with cash.
From Reuters....
"SACRAMENTO, California (Reuters) - A prominent Democratic California state senator and gun-control advocate was indicted by a San Francisco grand jury on charges of corruption and conspiracy to traffic in firearms, according to court documents released on Friday."
then there was Obama beseeching the supreme court to not by pass the people's representatives approval of obamacare. Obama then bypassed the people's elected representatives with federal regulations.
This pastor seems to have fought the police about the cross and won. Perhaps revenge planting dope in his house?
drug use is a very easy and convenient way to instantly discredit anyone.
Oh but no one brings up the corrupt war on drugs and how much of a miserable failure that has been!! Instead lets applaud the police for aggressively busting someone for drugs. LOL
This is tough stuff for a church to endure. That pastor has let a lot of people down with his actions.
However, Jesus Christ hasn't changed. Humanity has reared its ugly head. This will have consequences on his immediate family and the church family he shepherded. He will be judged for his actions. However, he is still alive on the earth - which means there is opportunity for reconciliation and to get his life back in the right direction.
God doesn't always give up on people because they fail. Most of the prominent people in the Bible had failed at some point in their life, and yet with the right spirit - God can use them again. But it is up to how this ex-pastor responds - and it he chooses to turn his life back in God's direction.
if true, it is sad, but remember leaders of churches are human too, the are not Gods and they do things that are wrong.
