I thought Mexico was paying for the wall ? or maybe we can have Mexico pay the US Military to build the wall? sounds like winning either way.

Looks like Mexico isn't going to pay for the wall.

Sad.

Allow me to enlighten both you and tRump.

It ain't their job.

They've got better things to do.

Besides, isn't tRump going to use his "deal making skills" to get Mexico to pay for it?

Carry on.

Why the Wall wont work

https://www.cato.org/publications/co...wall-wont-work

Legality
Practicality
Efficacy
Price

"a mammoth expenditure that would have little impact "

A lot of detail here, most of which will sail past most Trumpets with little understanding.

IIRC, most, if not all, of the 9/11 terrorists were here on expired visas.
It is never an either or proposition. Why not do both?

More importantly, a wall will reduce the amount of narcotics pouring across our border, and OTM's which potentially will be terrorists.
Nothing will stop them all, but it will stop some, and make it easier to stop others in more accessible areas along the border.

I just wonder for those who are opposed to the wall because they believe terrorists will not get in that way, are you going to wait until one sets off a bomb/s that kill people and then go along with building one after the fact?

Hard to do that when all the manpower and money is going into nation-building follies overseas.

Believe it or not, the military is for fighting wars, not political boondoggles.

Here we go again! How many times does it have to be explained to you and yours that Trump never said that Mexico would write a check for the wall but there are other ways to make them pay for it before you stop parroting, "I thought Mexico was paying for the wall"? It's getting old!

It's not true that most illegals in this country came here on visas anyway. They just keep repeating that nonsense ad nauseum over and over in here. We have a problem with both border jumpers and visa over stayers. We need to take steps to stop both and both will take a different approach. As you said, why should we ignore one problem and only focus on the other? That makes no sense at all. If they think that illegal entry via our southern border has stopped completely then they aren't dealing in reality or just plain out lying to themselves.

The good walls have proven to work very effectively to deter border jumpers. I have posted links over and over in here. E-verify will help also but criminals and terrorists aren't look for jobs, thus the wall. Even removing the job magnet won't do it all on it's own as we'd have to deny their kids birthright citizenship and benefits also or they'd still be coming here for that, thus the wall.

Maybe you'd care to explain why it is he hasn't mentioned them or done any negotiating to get it started, then.

It was his #1 biggest campaign pledge and here we are 14 months after he's taken office and all he's done is whimper and whine about "Dems won't pay for my wall!"

Dems aren't from Mexico, btw.

Carry on.
