I lived in Bermuda in the 80s. Cruise ships used to have drug shipments attached to the bottom of their boats. Scuba divers would go and retrieve them. Closing the border won’t make a difference

Do you seriously think that those drugs don't make it all the way thru the U.S.? That's like saying unless you live in a border state the rest of the U.S. is drug free.

Simple answers always feel good, until they don't work.

So there aren't any drugs come by land through our southern border? Did you read the link that another poster provided?

I didn’t say none. I’m simply saying they’ll find other ways

That does not say the are coming in by techniques that would be limited by the wall. It is likely the vast majority of that is drugs being smuggled in contained in legal shipments and such.

A border wall wont help people from overdosing; much like gun control/banning guns wont help reduce gun violence. We have to focus on individuals, and what compels them to use these drugs in the first place.

If they can't get them in by land that will reduce their success. We have ways to guard our ports also. You remind me of the typical anti-wall person. If we can't reduce illegal immigration by 100% and only by 80% then the wall is useless? WTH?

Don't lock your doors at night then and tear down any barriers around your house because after all thieves will find other ways to get into your house anyway.

No, I’m saying that I’ve lived it and have seen things happen without land access
