LOL. Is Trump going to try and claim executive privilege? News flash-Nixon would like to come explain to you that you can in fact take it when it deals with justice.

This SO reminds me of Nixon fighting to keep his tapes private making similar claims as you just did.

If you commit crimes you do not get to hide behind privilege.

My read on this is he get gets to be a party to the case which makes sense since Trump was Cohen's only client. This is not a stop.

America shouldn't be two teams locked in a perpetual fight, it is a joint venture that belongs to all of us. The delusional 37% who have bought this con man's lies are dragging down the entire country. Back when we had two rational political parties the country ran much better, they kept each other's excesses in check.

I don't know what part of my post you took issue with
I am sorry if you felt I gave false or misleading info--although I am giddy about new revelations in the Cohen situation--I am not so happy about other aspects of the news today, including Trump's decision to self-righteously pardon Scooter Libby who was Dick Cheney's lickspittal and deserved to serve time for what he did in furthering the unwarranted invasion of Iraq...

Not an attorney--never been sued--just watch lot of legal shows, movies and read legal novels
So my info is based on that and admittedly might suffer from reality so point out the errors in these bullets--

A special master works at the behest of a judge
A special master can have authority to assess what is material evidence that should be used by the prosecution and what should not, what should be turned over as exculpatory and what should not--
A special master is often a subject matter expert on topics that may be involved in the case before the court--legal, medical, patent law, engineering, deciding specific financial settlement percentages--that have bearing on the case in question
A special master is appointed to be "blind" to special interests and only follow the rule of law/justice

My understanding was that the "taint teams" that culled the evidence taken by each of the FBI search teams had recourse to someone who was like a "special master" in case they had questions as to nature of the material--if it was germain to the warrant or not...but I guess the judge or magistrate who issued the warrants did not establish a specific special master when the warrants were issued...
Because that is part of what Trump's new attorney apparently was seeking if I read the article correctly

This website is one judge's comments about using special masters

That matches mine. The attempt to block the collection of the material is very likely to fail as well. The FBI's taint team will most likely end up managing it.

You do realize granting Trump the right to intervene in this dispute is very much different than granting the TRO Cohen is seeking. Nothing about the seized material has been decided yet. I mean, I’m glad Trump is publicly admitting he is a party to all of this mess. I just hope we don’t have to listen to his mendacious word vomit on the Stormy Daniels affair anymore. The kabuki theater of “I didn’t know/I didn’t do it/do her)” is long over.

Time to move on to the next chapter - it promises to be more exciting than the first!

I think he thought it meant Trump won the motion to suppress all Cohen's evidence...
Just just allowed Trump (through his attorney) to join the case asking the court/judge to suppress the evidence the FBI gained from the search warrants...

Kind of a bigger deal though from this judge?

U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood on Friday ordered attorneys for Cohen to hand over a list of Cohen’s law clients and proof of their relationship by 10 a.m. Monday, so she can decide whether materials seized from Cohen’s office by federal law enforcement agents last week should be protected by attorney-client privilege.

That list will be a public record, Wood said, because the identities of an attorney’s clients are not subject to attorney-client privilege unless the mere name itself would reveal the kind of advice sought or given.
We're going to learn the list of everyone who has attorney client privilege with him. This is NOT the sort of thing he wants. Not at all.
