And since interest requires a growing money token supply, you have to always be borrowing more to create the new dollar bills to pay the interest.
Of course, that is insane, but thanks to clause 4, 14th amendment, USCON, muggles can't challenge the validity of that insanity.

"The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law... shall not be questioned."

D'Oh !
Yep.

When people like to crow about "American Exceptionalism" and "freedom" that's always a good thing to show them.

We lost the day we stepped over there, just like we did Iraq. Bush2 and his failed wars cost us big time.

Afghanistan is Obama's war. He campaigned on escalating it and sure went ahead and did it.

And who appointed the USA with the authority to draw up maps there?

It's not our business to determine that. Ever hear of the definition of sovereignty?

That was all on Bush2. First he took us to that dirt hole to look for OBL then side tracked us into Iraq to finish what his father failed to do. Obamabutt was even a bigger fail. That whole area needs to be gassed.

Such a secessionist movement would be led by local Afghans, though.

Lol, yea right. The US would pick a side and dump billions of dollars into the effort. It would not be the Afghans choosing, it would be the US and any other foreign power choosing. The US after it picks a side will declare all others the enemy. Any attempts at democratic partitioning that does not go the way the US wishes will be met with swift criticism and the backing of force to nullify such efforts.

And lord forbid Russia becomes involved, any group Russia backs the US will go ape s**t and do all they can to undermine everything about it, including backing Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

There is no short term "winning" in Afghanistan. We cant leave. We will need to stay there for decades. This is the thing many politicians don't want to say publicly. There will be no packing up and leaving Afghanistan on its own anytime soon. We have to resolve ourselves to the fact that it is a multi decade project. Otherwise the Taliban and Al Qaida win and recapture a state apparatus from which to launch attacks on the rest of the globe.

That's the reality of Afghanistan. We are there indefinitely.
